In its, KRYOLAN developed dedicated make-up preparations for concealment of skin anomalies with unsightly coloration, as well as of scars and tattoos. The application of such products is often the only possibility of relieving the psychic and emotional distress that the victims experience, and to restore a normal attitude toward life. DERMACOLOR Camouflage preparations are waterproof and heat-resistant, and they protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet radiation. They are durable for up to 36 hours, even under extreme conditions such as swimming, heat, and physical exertion. The satisfies all expectations placed by dermatologists, make-up artists and designers, and the men and women who use them. When applied properly, they reliably conceal the unattractive area of the body. Components and characteristics DERMACOLOR Camouflage Cream Camouflage Cream is the most effective active constituent of the KRYOLAN system for concealment of skin anomalies with discoloration. It offers many essential benefits: Its unusually great covering quality, based on a pigment share of over 50 % A dermatologically unique basic formulation, with 30 % natural constituents and ingredients identical to nature Content of no less than 18 % of a precious oil that is extremely close to human sebum. It is rare that touching up during the course of the day is necessary Suitability for tropical use Clinically confirmed outstanding tolerance by users, as well as effectiveness in long-term use DERMACOLOR Camouflage Cream alone does not dry. For this reason, it is used together with DERMACOLOR Fixing Powder, with which it makes up the Dermacolor Setting Spray Spraying on DERMACOLOR Setting Spray to the finished camouflage can significantly strengthen the smudging resistance of the camouflage. The spray, however, must be applied after the powder has been applied. Another benefit: application of the spray distinctly enhances protection from harmful ultraviolet radiation. Dermacolor Body Camouflage This highly effectively covering cream make-up, applied from its practical tube, has been especially designed for application to the arms, legs, and rest of the body. It dries a few minutes after application, and is then polished with a soft towel. It is smudge- and waterproof and also withstands to some degree brief swimming or bathing. It requires no application of powder. On pages 32 to 35, under the section Application step-by-step, read a detailed description of the individual steps of works. Or, follow the brief instructions below: Dermacolor Fixing Powder DERMACOLOR is the second component of the Camouflage System. Together with DERMACOLOR Cream, it makes up the KRYOLAN. The powder is provided to set the applied Camouflage Cream, which does not dry alone, and to assure a smudge-proof bond to the skin. At the same time, the magnesium myristate in the DERMACOLOR Fixing Powder enhances the hydrophobic properties of the Camouflage make-up. Excerpts from a clinical study on the skin compatibility of DERMACOLOR: Initially, 100 patients underwent epicutaneous exposition by application of DERMACOLOR D4 test patches to the skin of their backs. The patches remained on their skin for 48 hours, or for 72 hours. All test persons were in-patients and were observed during the entire course of this test. There were no skin intolerance reactions to DERMACOLOR D4. In a second series of testing, DERMACOLOR D4 was applied to the skin of the face, neck, and ears, in patients who had a medical record of sensitive skin regions. This second test, conducted on 22 patients with existing skin alterations, produced no skin irritation. It may therefore be concluded that DERMACOLOR is compatible with the skin and that no sensitivity reactions could be observed. It is worthy of note that DERMACOLOR D4 produced no positive test results, even among those test persons who had a record of sensitivity to various medications and preservatives. These persons were again exposed to DERMACOLOR D4 after the primary application, which likewise produced no skin reaction. This second exposition investigation took place among a cohort of 32 patients. 10 11

Application - step by step Accessories Make-up sponge Powder puff Powder brush made of natural goat hair Spatula Preparation of the skin Before applying camouflage, thoroughly clean the skin. The best technique here is to use cotton-wool pads with DERMACOLOR Cleansing Lotion. If the skin is then very dry, use DERMACOLOR Moisturizer Cream sparingly. Choice of color If at all possible, use natural daylight to choose the matching color shade from the selection available. If you realize by looking into the mirror that you must correct your selection, mix other shades until you have reached the optimum nuance. Your natural skin color can change over the course of the year: which means that it is advisable to keep two or three color shades on stock at all times. Then occasionally check them to see if they still match your skin. Application In the interests of hygiene, use a spatula to remove DERMACOLOR Camouflage Cream from its container. First apply the cream to the balls of your hands. This slight warming will make it easier to spread out the cream. Now you can easily apply the Camouflage Cream with a slightly moistened make-up sponge, or with the tips of your fingers, in a thin layer with uniform dabbing movements. Cover the skin area to be concealed up to 2 cm beyond its borders, and allow the camouflage to gradually thin out at its edges. Shading To enhance a natural camouflage effect, proper shading is necessary. It is especially important here to observe the correct application of rouge. An outstandingly natural rouge can be achieved with color shade D32. Apply DERMACOLOR Rouge to the cheekbone area, up to the temples. The male beard area and the eyebrows can be emphasized with Camouflage Creme D40 or other appropriate dark shades. For optimal results, we recommend a stipple sponge from KRYOLAN, Art. 1454. Powdering and fixing It is not enough just to dust DERMACOLOR Fixing Powder onto the surface of the camouflage. Allow to act for a short time, then carefully remove the excess powder with a soft or stiff powder brush. Use a moistened sponge to carefully dab away any powder remnants. After fixing, the make-up is smudge- and waterproof. As final step, the application of Fixing Spray definitely enhances the smudge-proof quality of the complete camouflage, especially at problem zones such as neck and hands. Spray DERMACOLOR Fixing Spray from a distance of around 30 cm onto the required area. Be careful not to apply too much: this would cause undesired shininess. After application of DERMACOLOR Camouflage Cream, the next step is fixing with DERMACOLOR Fixing Powder. We recommend taking a powder puff between the fingers to easily work the powder into the camouflage. 32 33
Application - step by step Skin irregularities Unattractive skin irregularities can be compensated for by using Artex, the new film-forming dualcomponent preparation by KRYOLAN. See the product description for application instructions. Decorative make-up After powdering, you can additionally use dermacolor light or another decorative cosmetic. Touching up Touching up is actually not necessary, since with proper application of the DERMACOLOR Camouflage System the make-up is waterproof and durable for the whole day. If, however, this should become necessary, then you can easily touch up but don t forget to powder.
