How to pay Students enrolled for the first time in the 2015/2016 (This category of students includes students enrolling again after loss of student status, withdrawal from studies and transferring from another University) The 1st instalment of university tuition fees must be paid at branches of Banca Popolare di Sondrio (www.popso.it) and Banca di Piacenza within the deadlines stated, using the payment form available on Online Services (www.polimi.it/onlineservices). Alternatively, by credit card or pre-paid card Visa, Mastercard or American Express from Online Services Note: students who have just completed enrolment for a Laurea (equivalent to a Bachelor of Science) and who withdraw from studies before 30/11/2015 can apply for the reimbursement of the fees of the first instalment using a specific withdrawal-from-studies form available on: www.polimi.it/en/forms The refund does not include administration fees of 45.58. The reimbursement does not include enrolment fees of 254 if students have requested and used enrolment certificates. The second instalment of tuition fees must be paid as explained in the Students enrolled for the first time before the 2015/2016. Students enrolled for the first time before the 2015/2016 Instalments are paid using a MAV payment slip that can be downloaded from Online Services (www.polimi.it/onlineservices Information Tuition fees Last request not paid) It is the student s responsibility to be aware of all the scheduled payment deadlines. Payments made after the deadline will, in all cases, lead to a fine (default interest). Students must immediately inform the Politecnico di Milano of changes in address through the Online Services, so that reimbursements and other communications can be sent to the correct address. Students must also state the way they would like reimbursements to be paid by entering the Online Services on (www.polimi.it/onlineservices Information Instructions for Payment Methods) Please note that you will not be able to download a MAV payment slip from the Online Service for sums below 10.00. Any owed sums below 10 will be automatically added to the next payment. There are various ways of paying tuition fees. Using a MAV payment slip in any branch of any bank in Italy. Payments from abroad are not accepted, unless they are made via home banking services and the bank used for paying is in Italy. Many home banking systems and credit card management web sites allow users to make MAV payments. It is important to check that the basic elements of the MAV payment slip are requested, i.e. the MAV Identification Code, which is a 17-digit code on the paper MAV payment slip sent by the Banca Popolare di Sondrio on behalf of the Politecnico di Milano in the Codice MAV [MAV Code] inbox, the sum to pay, the MAV due date. These systems generally charge a fee for this kind of service. If you have a Policredit Card, you can go to Online Services on (www.polimi.it/onlineservices) and access the PoliCredit Card function and select MAV payment. You will not be asked for the credit card number because you have already been identified by the Online Services. If there are sufficient funds and if you Page 12 to 32

are up to date with the payments of the previous instalments owed to the Politecnico di Milano, the sum will be taken directly off the PoliCredit Card. This service has no added costs. It is very important to enter the correct MAV identification code, the sum to pay, and the MAV due date. The Banca Popolare di Sondrio (www.popso.it), the bursar of the Politecnico di Milano that issues the MAV slips - offers a service called Scrigno Pago Facile (fees apply), available on:(https://pagofacile.popso.it) This service is a quick, simple and safe way to pay utility bills, licences, fees and sums to the public and private bodies, companies etc. that are part of the service. Scrigno Pago Facile is available to everybody. The basic service is anonymous but you can register if you wish. You can pay by credit card (Visa/ Mastercard/ Bankpass Web). NOTE: Please check that the various forms of payment do not mean that the actual payment is after the deadline (e.g. usually in the case of online bank transfers made after 4 pm the funds are not actually transferred until the day after). After paying, there is NO NEED to hand in any documents! You can check that the payment has been made on time about 7-15 days after payment on (www.polimi.it/onlineservices Information List of previous payments or Last payment not paid Page 13 to 32

Exemptions General rules The Board of Governors of the Politecnico di Milano has planned a 2,700,000 reduction of income in the 2015/2016 A.Y. in order to grant exemptions. Any leftover funds will be used to grant further exemptions, scholarships and to improve the services offered to students. If the sum of the reimbursements related to the accepted requests for exemptions is higher than the sum mentioned above, a reduction (percentage) of the exemption quotas in categories 1, 5, 6 and 7 will be applied. Students in categories 1, 4, 5 and 6 who are in contribution levels over and above level 5 will be granted an exemption quota that is no higher than that granted to students in contribution level 5. Students who meet the requirements for different kinds of benefits from the Financial Aid and International Mobility Service or from other Services of the Politecnico di Milano will be offered only the benefit with the highest economic value. The percentage of the exemption is calculated solely on the sum of the enrolment fees and university contributions. The exemption quota will be applied by reducing the sum of the 2nd instalment (which is calculated according to the ECTS in the study plan and/or the contribution level the student belongs to). If no balance is due and the student is in credit, the excess amount will be refunded. Only students who are about to graduate may register for the academic year in specific cases up to the first day of the last graduation exam session of the 2014/2015 academic year. The deadlines for requesting exemption and providing the related documents do not change. Any appeals or the non-granting of exemption must be formally submitted to the Registrar Office by the strict deadline of 23 May 2016 (postponed to 21 June 2016), coinciding with the expiry of payment of the 2nd instalments of tuition fees and contributions that the interested party must pay. If exemption is granted after the appeal, a refund will be given.
