Mary Kay Cosmetic Brushes

Why Invest in Brushes? Mary Kay Cosmetic Brushes The way to a perfect finish is to start with the perfect brush. Makeup brushes are designed to pick up and distribute cosmetic product without absorbing it. In addition, the use of brushes generally limits the amount of times your fingers come in contact with the face. Therefore, there is less pulling and tugging of the skin. Anyone, from a novice to a professional, can benefit from using the right tools. The high-quality Mary Kay brushes are designed to offer a polished and professional application every time!

Mary Kay Brushes Mary Kay offers a variety of brushes including a Powder, Cheek, Eye Crease, Eye Color, Eyeliner/Eyebrow Brush as well as Cream Eye Color/Concealer, Liquid Foundation, Mineral Foundation and Eye Smudger Brush for a complete look. Mary Kay cosmetic brushes are handcrafted and designed specifically to complement Mary Kay color and face products. Longer, fuller bristles distribute product over large areas of the face while short, compact bristles allow product to be applied to very defined, specific areas. Each brush is customized to perfection, from the platinum ferrule (the metal band that holds the bristles to the handle) to the deep, dark brown uniform color of the bristles. And each handle has been uniquely shaped to maximize comfort and control. The result is a prestige appearance with precise results. The uncompromised quality and performance means your brushes are designed to last when properly cared for.

Mary Kay Brushes The hair for the brushes is specifically chosen based on each brush s function and purpose. Synthetic fibers are the best choice for liquid- and cream-based products because the bristles hold their shape and don t expand when wet. This is important for achieving a smooth, precise application. Our Liquid Foundation, Eyeliner/Eyebrow and Cream Eye Color/Concealer brushes are made from high-quality synthetic bristles. Natural hair is the best choice for powder-based products because it easily picks up, holds and evenly distributes powder on the skin. Natural bristles are softer and more porous, which allows them to hold on to the product without absorbing it to optimize the payoff. Our Powder, Cheek, Eye Crease, Eye Color, Eye Smudger and Mineral Foundation brushes are made from top-of-the-line natural bristles.

Mary Kay Liquid Foundation Brush What it s for: Applying liquid foundation. Why it works: The unique, flat, tapered shape allows the brush to go places that fingertips can t. It ensures that every contour on the face is covered. The bristles won t absorb product. Using a brush is more hygienic than using your fingertips. How to use it: Start at the center of your face, at the nose or forehead and use broad, even strokes, working out to hairline and chin to sweep and blend the makeup. Products that complement it: All Mary Kay liquid foundations Brush hair type: Synthetic fibers for a smooth, precise application

Mary Kay Mineral Foundation Brush What it s for: Applying mineral powder foundation Why it works: The short, dense bristles are designed to grab the mineral powder foundation and evenly distribute it over all facial contours. The brush allows for buildable coverage. How to use it: Lightly dip brush into the powder and tap against the rim of the jar to remove any excess. Apply starting in the center of the face, working outward in a circular motion. Product that complements it: Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation Brush hair type: Natural hair to easily pick up, hold and effectively distribute the foundation onto the face, allowing for buildable coverage.

Mary Kay Brush Collection: Powder Brush What it s for: Applying loose or pressed powder to help set foundation. Why it works: Voluminous bristles provide an even, flawless application when using loose or pressed powders to help set foundation. It also imparts an all-over glow from a bronzer or can be used to contour the face. How to use it: Sweep brush across pressed powder or dip into loose powder; tap gently to remove excess and apply to the face from forehead to chin using long, light strokes. Products that complement it: Mary Kay Sheer Mineral Pressed Powder, Mary Kay Loose Powder, Mary Kay Mineral Bronzing Powder and Mary Kay Mineral Highlighting Powder Brush hair type: Natural hair, which is softer and more porous to hold onto the powder and optimize payoff.

Mary Kay Brush Collection: Cheek Brush What it s for: Applying and blending cheek color, including bronzing and highlighting powder Why it works: Fluffy, domed-top bristles provide greater versatility to apply color directly to the apples of cheeks or can be held at an angle to sweep color along cheekbones for a soft glow. How to use it: Using the tip of the brush, apply color to the apple of the cheek and stroke upward at an angle along cheekbone, stopping just below the temple. Blend. Products that complement it: Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color, Mary Kay Mineral Bronzing Powder and Mary Kay Mineral Highlighting Powder Brush hair type: Natural hair to easily pick up, hold and effectively distribute color onto the cheeks

Mary Kay Brush Collection: Eye Color Brush What it s for: Applying and blending powder eye color evenly. Why it works: The precise, beveled bristles are designed to conform to the contour of the eyelid for smooth, even application and beautiful blending. How to use it: Softly sweep across the eyelid and then lightly above the crease for a natural yet polished look. Product that complements it: Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color Hair type: Natural hair, which is softer and more porous to hold onto the color and optimize payoff

Mary Kay Brush Collection: Eye Crease Brush What it s for: Applying powder eye color in a targeted area and accentuating the crease. Why it works: Tapered, voluminous bristles help provide precise application for depth and definition along eye crease. How to use it: Begin by placing the brush at outer corner of eye and sweep inward following the natural crease. Blend. Product that complements it: Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color Hair type: Natural hair, which is softer and more porous to hold onto the color and optimize payoff.

Mary Kay Brush Collection: Eyeliner/Eyebrow Brush What it s for: Applying eyeliner and brow color. Shaping eyebrow hairs. Why it works: Angled brush: The firm, angled bristles are designed for precise application of color to lash line or brows. Brow brush: The stiff brush bristles tame eyebrow hair. How to use it: Eyeliner: Place angled brush at top lash line, and glide on a thin line of color from the inner corner towards the outer corner. Repeat along bottom lash line starting with the outer corner and working in. Eyebrow: Use short, upward strokes of the angled brush to fill in brows with color. Use the stiff bristles to brush brows in the opposite direction from which they grow, removing any excess foundation or powder. Then gently brush brows back upward, following their natural shape. Bonus: This brush also includes an eyelash comb which is great for separating lashes immediately after applying mascara! Products that complement it: Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color, Mary Kay mascaras and Mary Kay brow pencil or liner. Brush hair type: Synthetic hair, which is stiffer than natural hair to help create a precise application.

Mary Kay Eye Smudger Brush What it s for: Precise application, blending and diffusing color along the lash line. Why it works: Short, flat, dense bristles help allow for diffusing color or for smudging eyeliner along the lash line for a soft, smoky effect. How to Use it: Use small strokes along the lash line for precise application of eye color or wiggle back and forth to diffuse eyeliner. For a dramatic smoky eye look, blend eye color and eyeliner together. Products that complement it: Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color and Mary Kay Eyeliner Brush hair type: Natural hair to easily pick up, hold and effectively distribute color as well as to create soft lines

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush What it s for: Applying any cream product Why it works: Perfectly sized, round, soft bristles provide beautiful coverage of cream-based color and a more comfortable, natural fit on the eye lid, especially in the corners. Also ideally shaped for precise application of concealer. How to Use it: Cream Eye Color: Dip brush in color and apply to lid using short, sweeping brush strokes. Layer color for desired effect. Concealer: Apply a small amount of concealer to back of hand. Dip brush in concealer. Use the tip to cover tiny imperfections and use the flat end to help cover larger areas of skin. Blend. Products that complement it: Mary Kay Cream Eye Color and Mary Kay Concealer NOTE: For hygienic reasons, it is recommended to dedicate one brush for use with concealer and one brush for use with cream eye color. Brush hair type: Synthetic fibers to provide even distribution of cream-based products as the bristles do not expand when wet.

Compact Powder Brush Mary Kay Cosmetic Brushes What it s for: Compact-based applicator for any of the pressed powders. Why it works: The brush helps to evenly distribute powder on the face. Brush Cleaner Care and Handling Instructions It is critical to follow safe, hygienic practices to minimize the possibility of spreading bacteria and germs between customers. Do not allow use on customers with broken skin or visible skin outbreaks. Never allow brushes to be shared between guests at the same appointment. Brushes must be sanitized and thoroughly air-dried between each customer. Cleaning brushes between each use ensures that customers can sample the product safely and effectively. Sanitize After every customer use, clean the brush using the Mary Kay Brush Cleaner. Follow the instructions on the label. Dry Allow the brush to dry naturally by laying the brush flat on a clean tissue until it completely dries. Always allow the brushes to dry thoroughly before storage and avoid touching the brush hairs with bare hands. Store the cleaned, completely dry brushes individually in a clean plastic bag between demonstrations.

Brush Care and Handling for Personal Use It is best to clean brushes with the Mary Kay Brush Cleaner between different shade applications using the same brush and for day-to-day cleaning. Then, deep clean brushes weekly. To deep clean, wet the brush hair with warm water. Squirt a mild cleanser in your palm and sweep bristles back and forth in a circular motion. Rinse well. Squeeze out excess water with a clean towel; reshape bristles and lay brush with hairs extending out over a ledge to dry. Never dry brushes upright, as water can seep in and weaken the handle. Keep your Mary Kay Brushes looking nice by storing them in their case when not in use. By following the brush care and handling instructions above, you can extend the life of the brushes.

Brush Care and Handling Precautions Please note the following precautions: The use of regular rubbing alcohol for brush sanitation is not recommended as it may significantly damage the brushes. Never dry brushes upright as the cleaner may weaken the handle. Never use a hair dryer or sunlight for drying as they will damage the brush hairs. Never allow brushes to be shared between guests at the same appointment.
