The breakdown of the two instalments is shown below. Percentage of contributions owed in relation to the ECTS inserted in the Study plan Full (100%) contributions are applied to students who do not present a Study plan even if they have to. Please remember that the total number of ECTS per A.Y. that can be inserted in the study plan is between 30 (minimum) and 80 (maximum). Further info in the Career Guide www.polimi.it/en/guides. The number of ECTS entered annually in the study plan cannot be changed and failure to pass the related exams does not entitle students to any kind of reimbursement. Number of ECTS % contributions due up to 30 50 more than 30, up to 45 75 more than 45, up to 73 100 more than 73 (maximum 80) 130 The sum of the contributions paid in advance in the first instalment is the same for all students. The sum of the second instalment is calculated taking into account the actual number of ECTS inserted in the Study plan. The balance will be paid in the second instalment, taking into account how much was paid in the first instalment. Below are some examples. Exemptions General rules The Board of Governors of the Politecnico di Milano has planned a 2,700,000 reduction of income in the 2015/2016 A.Y. in order to grant exemptions. Any leftover funds will be used to grant further exemptions, scholarships and to improve the services offered to students. If the sum of the reimbursements related to the accepted requests for exemptions is higher than the sum mentioned above, a reduction (percentage) of the exemption quotas in categories 1, 5, 6 and 7 will be applied. Students in categories 1, 4, 5 and 6 who are in contribution levels over and above level 5 will be granted an exemption quota that is no higher than that granted to students in contribution level 5. Students who meet the requirements for different kinds of benefits from the Financial Aid and International Mobility Service or from other Services of the Politecnico di Milano will be offered only the benefit with the highest economic value. The percentage of the exemption is calculated solely on the sum of the enrolment fees and university contributions. The reimbursement does not include the non-refundable fees listed below: Regional fee for university education aid: 140.00 Administration fees: 45.58 IOL contribution for students enrolled in the Online Programme in Computer Science and Engineering IOL (students in exemption category 2 students with a disability are not required to pay this contribution). The exemption quota will be applied by reducing the sum of the 2nd instalment (which is calculated according to the ECTS in the study plan and/or the contribution level the student belongs to). If no balance is due and the student is in credit, the excess amount will be refunded. Only students who are about to graduate may register for the academic year in specific cases up to the first day of the last graduation exam session of the 2014/2015 academic year. The deadlines for requesting exemption and providing the related documents do not change. Any appeals or the non-granting of exemption must be formally submitted to the Registrar Office by the strict deadline of 23 May 2016 (postponed to 21/06/2016), coinciding with the expiry of payment of the 2nd instalments of tuition fees and contributions that the interested party must pay. If exemption is granted after the appeal, a refund will be given.
