HSHE Criminal Justice On-campus Off-campus Revise/ Two new faculty joining this department (replacing retirements) will help shape curriculum changes currently underway. The department is moving to a 3-credit backbone, and is experimenting with new programming that will provide data for Must get the online program moved more on to load. Currently, too large for the current faculty even after a new line was added. Security/anti-terror 2+2 NEW Exploring a 2+2 as potential area of growth. * *if we establish a threshold. Anything above is 80/20. This may be part of the current online (see above) or it may be a hybrid program that would potentially add another line in an 80/20 model. Human Performance, Sport, and Health Community Health DAPE on campus, grow online Revise/Grow Health Revise/Grow 1 1 The program faculty are involved in research with Sanford Health as well as partnering with Winona State in their HLA baccalaurate online degree program. DAPE (Adaptive Physical Education) must be revised, approved, and moved online Revise to include more than one person. Can take entire license/endorsement online. PE No change (can fill to capacity) until NCATE. Sports Management Could change if rethink the relationship with business. Exercise Science /grow 1 Professional Education Special Education Grow 1-2 Revision is complete and approved by the Board of Teaching. The plan is to move the entire program into 80/20, can branch into other states. We will definitely establish a China connection in the program with Weifang. Phase out old MS in Special Ed. /no * Growing online and hybrid programming. There is more potential here to add an 80/20 line in community health as the partnership with Winona is established and new programming in 2+2 are established in the health-related fields. Community health would play a large role in these areas. Health ed could move to an 80/20 model. Recommendation is to reclaim one or both FTE that are now part of several coaches' load and make decisions from there. This has been a long standing challenge in the department, since coaches may or may not have the appropriate tecahing credentials for needed course coverage. Note above. Depending on outcomes, we could add another PE methods person to the department. Note above. Depending on outcomes, we could add another exercise scientist/physiologist to the department. The department will first need to address the issues of quality and assessment by becoming accredited through NCATE. This requires significant energy and attention and time to establish habits of assessment and evaluation of data. The department can grow in this area, but should limit new programming and revisions to better manage work loads. *if we establish a threshold. Anything above is 80/20.

Elementary Education Revise/ Secondary Ed Revise/ Master's in Regular Education Revise/ Master's of Applied Teaching Psychology NEW 1 Campus /Grow? 1 Social Work Campus Distance/online NEW 1-2 Will revise the program to make these candidates more marketable, but the programs (campus/online) are likley as large as they will be. Possible 80/20 in a one or two-time cohort for el ed Chinese immersion teachers. Moving the FasTrack program into a revised version (called simply the Secondary Initiative). Try to work more closely with discipline coordinators to fill capacity in secondary programs of need (math, science, communication arts), particularly for hybrid and online delivery. Phase out the M.Ed. Program, grow MS to capacity or focus on partnerships and certificates. Closely related to the secondary initiative is the MAT. This allows secondary initiative students to use the 5XXX Standards of Effective Practice courses as half of the requirements for a Master's degree. Consider growth on campus (and on-line) after additional discussion over the next two years May consider adding a line now and ask dept to grow.ladc minor and license in the Cities. no Phase out the M.Ed. Program, grow MS to capacity or focus on partnerships and certificates This program will add to the existing master's offerings, with a later need to add a line to help with final capstone projects, etc. A discussion with psychology faculty is recommended to encourage intelligent growth. This would require adding a probationary line to the department, and continuing to shift correspondence courses to interactive online courses. The department has one approved 80/20 model for the program delivered primarily to tribal college students. They will seriously consider adding another 80/20 to meet the demand for the LADC minor and licensure in the Twin Cities. Further discussion is neded immediately.
