Counseling Program Master s Degree Plan The Master s degree in Counseling Program requires 6-66 credit hours. Courses in the program are designed to provide gradual and stratified skill-building experiences, beginning with an introductory course and culminating with the internship experience. With this in mind, course sequencing is utilized to maximize the learning and skill-building process. Students are responsible for reviewing the catalog and schedule to be certain that all prerequisites for courses have been taken. Any student who has not followed the above procedure and has registered for a class out of sequence may be required to drop the class. Course Sequencing Planner **Course Plans are for planning purposes only, and no student is guaranteed any specific course in a given semester Year One Year Two Year Three Please Note: 1. Coursework toward the M.A. degree must be completed within seven years. 2. Students receiving a C in any of the clinical skill building courses: CPCE 5100, 5110, 5160, 5910, 590, 6140, or 7100 will be automatically reviewed to determine continuation in the Counseling program and will be required to repeat the course.. If a course is waived from your program plan of study, a Course Waiver form must be completed and signed by your faculty advisor. Course Waiver forms are available in the Academic Services Center, Lawrence Street Center, Suite 701. 4. Transferring credit requires an official transcript and a Transfer of Credit form. Note: All credit transfers must be approved by the faculty mentor and submitted to the Academic Services Center for a dean s signature. For the M.A. program, only a total of nine semester credits can be transferred. Transfers of Credit forms are available in the Academic Services Center. 5.
