Utility Rebate Programs Key Points Ohio Senate Bill 221 in 2008 Requires 4 private utilities to implement energy conservation. Cost of the program is on our bills. We need to take full advantage since we are paying for it anyway! Duke, First Energy, DP&L, AEP and many Municipal Utilities have programs. The electric utility programs are all similar with different levels of marketing. Only two natural gas companies (Vectren and Columbia) have programs

Office of Energy s Energy Loan Fund Low-cost loans that support energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements. Provides financing for projects that reduce energy usage and associated costs, lower fossil fuel emissions, and/or create or retain jobs. Expected results include: A minimum of 15% energy use reduction from existing conditions. A result in a return on investment of 15 years or less, which allows the loan to be paid back within a reasonable time period. Economic impact such as job creation or retention. Improvement in environmental quality. Eligible Entities: Small Businesses - 80% of eligible project costs up to $250,000 Manufacturers - 80% of eligible project costs up to $1 million Public Entities and Nonprofits - 90% of eligible project costs up to $1 million See them here today! Repayment of the loan may carry annual fixed interest rates that are set below the prime rate published in the Wall Street Journal. The loan term will be determined based on the project activities, verified estimated energy cost savings, and the useful life of the allowable project costs/uses financed.
