Institutional Financial Aid Guidelines The American University in Cairo offers institutional financial aid awards in the form of grants to students who face financial difficulties in paying the entire tuition fees. Eligibility To apply for the institutional financial aid program, undergraduate students must meet the following requirements: Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as full-time, degree-seeking students Not on academic probation (applicable to returning students) Demonstrate financial need by submitting a financial aid application form Awards Undergraduate students receive grants in the form of fixed amounts to partially reduce tuition fees. These amounts will most likely remain constant throughout the course of study at AUC (unless otherwise notified) as long as the student remains eligible for financial aid. Maintainability To remain eligible for financial aid, undergraduate students must meet the following academic criteria: Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above Maintain full-time status (12 credit hours per semester or above) Graduating seniors who are in their last semester of study and who are registered as part timers will receive financial aid awards that are calculated in proportion to the number of registered credit hours. Renewal Undergraduate students who were granted financial aid do not have to renew their applications as long as they maintain their eligibility. They should only reapply if they received temporary financial aid awards and wish to renew their awards. Summer and Winter Financial Aid Financial aid awards are not offered for the summer and winter semesters. Important note: Requests received after the deadlines and incomplete application forms will be processed during the following semester.
