PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY, It is important that you understand these requirements. 1. Loans are listed on your Web Abvisor account but not certified to the Department of Education until all processes are complete as listed above. All steps in this process and submission of documentation required for verification of your student aid application (FAFSA) must be completed by August 1, Account information cannot be provided by phone, please check your Web Advisor Account for up to date information. All five steps of this are due and completed by August 1, 2011 in order for the loan to be certified for the FALL 2011semester. If you choose to attend the student loan workshop held on August 1, 2011 you are still responsible to complete the other requirements by August 1, You must be registered at least 6 credit hours at TCL for the term that the loan funds are being requested. Students that fail to attend all classes they are registered for may lose eligibility of loan funds. In addition, students that drop classes before completing 60% of the academic term may be required to immediately repay all or part of the loan received. This is a federal regulation that cannot be reversed regardless of the reason you are withdrawing. Make sure you speak to a financial aid counselor before withdrawing from all of your classes. 4. All hours of enrollment must count toward the student s diploma, certificate, or degree program at TCL. 5. If you are a new student or have not completed the Title IV Authorization form (attached) you must complete this form and return it to the Business office. It is very important that you read this information carefully. By completing the Title IV Authorization form you are deciding if you plan to charge books in the bookstore as well as how your refund will be processed. Questions concerning the Title IV Authorization form should be directed to the Business Office/Cashier. 6. Students must be making academic progress toward the completion of their program of study. 7. Student may not exceed federally established yearly or lifetime loan limits. 8. All students receiving student loan funds must attend a Financial Literacy Workshop. This workshop is provided to the student at no cost. This is an annual requirement. Students that do not maintain a correct address with TCL and the U.S. Department of Education's Direct Loan Program will immediately have their loan disbursement canceled. Students must complete their MPN (Master Promissory Note) no later than August 1, 2011Students that have not completed the MPN by the deadline will not receive loan disbursements for the FALL 2011 semester. All qualifications and deadlines for the next Semester will need to be met prior to disbursement. 12. All students must complete a TCL In-House Loan Application. The TCL In-House Loan Application must be completely filed out, no later than August 1, 2011 Loan applications received incomplete or after the deadline will not be certified for the Summer term. 13. Checks are mailed by the Business Office as per the student s selection on the Title IV Authorization form and the schedule provided by the Business Office. 14. First time borrowers of the student loan program must wait 30 days after the start of class before loan proceeds be disbursed to the students account. This is a federal regulation and cannot be waived under any circumstance. September 18, 2011 is the date loan funds are requested for for First-time borrowers.
