Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Outlook 2000 versions are not supported for installing and running Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook. To use the full functionality of CRM available within Outlook the client software must first be installed. This plug-in is provided free of charge directly from Microsoft. To download the plugin: 1. Navigate to the following website http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=60c4a6cc-59d7-416e -9F44-0AE8FF249768&displaylang=en
2. Click the download button. 3. Save the download to a suitable location on your computer. We recommend saving the download to the desktop of your computer. 4. Once the file has been downloaded locate it and double click the file.
5. In the "Choose Directory for Extracted Files" box add \CRMPlugin to the end folder path and click OK. 6. Your files will start extracting to the new folder 7. Once the file extraction has completed locate and double click the new folder 8. Double click the "setupclient" file. The Installation process will begin. 9. Select Install Microsoft Dynamics for Outlook (recommended) then click Next.
10. If you agree to the licence agreement select I accept this licence agreement. 11. Click the I Accept button. 12. If the installation wizard detects that any required components are missing, you will be prompted to install them. To install these components click Install. 13. When the components have been installed the information columns will change from "Not installed" to "Installed" and the Next button will be enabled.
Note: You may be prompted to restart your computer to complete the installation of some components. If you are prompted please do so. You will be able to re-run the setup client again once your computer has restarted to continue the installation process. 14. Your computer will then be checked for any other system requirements. Errors and Warnings will be displayed with an appropriate resolution or link to a Microsoft Knowledgebase article. Warnings however can be ignored for the most part as they are recommendations. Errors must be resolved before the installation will continue. 15. Click Install if prompted with this option. 16. Once the installation has completed click Close. Configuring the plug-in Once installed the plug-in needs to be configured. 1. Click on your Start Menu > All Programs > Microsoft Dynamics 4.0 > Configuration Wizard.
2. Choose An online service provider then click Next. 3. Enter the web address of your CRM installation in the Web Address box and then click Next. Note the HTTPS:// is required. The full URL can be found within your Control Panel by clicking on Hosted Dynamics CRM > Organisation. 4. On the "Help us improve the customer experience" page select whether you would like
to participate in the customer improvement program, click Next. 5. Your configuration is now complete. Click Finish to finalize the configuration process. Starting Outlook will now prompt for your CRM username and password and the CRM toolbar will be displayed
