Introduction This manual describes the process of connecting to a HomeRun session over the web. This document contains 2 sections. The first section is entitled How to setup a connection for the first time. It contains instructions on how to setup a secure connection on a PC that has never connected to HomeRun before. Once these steps are completed, they do not need to be performed again on that PC for that user. If multiple users share the same PC, each user will need to perform these steps once. The second section is entitled How to connect to HomeRun. It contains instructions on how to connect to a HomeRun session. These steps need to be performed every time you wish to connect to HomeRun. Information you will Need You will need a username and password to access the White Oak Systems website, and a username and password to access your secure HomeRun session. How to setup a connection for the first time This section of the manual explains the step-by-step procedures for setting up your PC so that it can create a secure connection over the web to use HomeRun. Installing Citrix: 1) Using the files provided in the zip file, install the web client XenAppWeb.msi HomeRun Help -Introduction 2
Setting up the WhiteOak Certificate A certificate is an encrypted file that allows your computer to communicate securely over the internet with HomeRun. Without this extra layer of security, your computer will not be able to create a secure connection, and you will not be able to access HomeRun. Follow the instructions below to install the WhiteOak Certificate. 1. In the zip file e-mailed to you, you will find a verisign certificate. 2. Double click it and install it. 3. 7. Click Finish 8. You should see the following dialog if the certificate import was successful. Click OK to proceed. Setting up trusted sites In order for your computer to establish a working connection with HomeRun, you must setup Internet Explorer to trust the WhiteOak Systems and Citrix websites. Follow the steps below: Note! Citrix is the vendor that White Oak Systems uses to perform secure HomeRun sessions over the internet. Your computer may need to automatically download certain components from the Citrix website to ensure a smooth, functional connection, so it is important that Citrix is added to your trusted sites list. 1. From Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, and select Internet Options 2. The Internet Options screen will appear. Select the Security tab, and select the Trusted sites icon 3. Click on the Sites button HomeRun Help -How to setup a connection for the first time 6
4. In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type in the following https://*.whiteoaksys.com (Note that you must type https NOT http. The extra s stands for secure. Click Add. 5. In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type in the following http://*.citrix.com Make sure the check box that says Require server verification for all sites in this zone is checked off, or you will receive an error message. Click Add. 6. Click Ok, and click OK again to exit the Internet Options screen. Your computer is now ready to begin a HomeRun session. HomeRun Help -How to setup a connection for the first time 7
Note! It is possible, because of policy or security settings on your network, that you may not have permission to install ActiveX controls on your computer. If this is the case, connecting to HomeRun may result in an error message. If this happens, you will need to install the citrix client on your computer as a system or domain administrator. Contact White Oak Systems for assistance. How to connect to HomeRun This section of the manual explains the step-by-step procedures for connecting your PC to HomeRun over the internet. Note we also provide this link in the.zip file which you can save to the desktop. Note! You must perform ALL of the steps in the previous section before you can establish a secure HomeRun session. You only need to perform the steps in the first section once. 1. From Internet Explorer, type the following in the address bar: https://vpn.whiteoaksys.com (Note that you must type in HTTPS, not HTTP) Hint... Once you connect to https://vpn.whiteoaksys.com, you may want to add this entry to your Favorites list in Internet Explorer, so you can easily access the site for future sessions. 2. As you connect to this site, you may get the following message HomeRun Help -How to connect to HomeRun 8
Simply click OK, or select In the future, do not show this warning and then click OK, if you don t wish to see this message again. This is simply telling you that you are about to create a secure connection over the internet. 3. You should see the following screen. Type in your username and password (this was assigned to you by White Oak). Click Login 4. You may see this screen come up. Click Yes. You should only see this screen the first time you connect to HomeRun. 5. Click WhiteOak 6. This will launch a new Internet Explorer Window. Click WOFARM 7. 8. After a few seconds, HomeRun will launch, and you can begin using the system. Note that the first time you login you may see a screen that looks like this: This dialog allows HomeRun to have access to your local drives, so that you can save documents from HomeRun directly to your local pc (such as images, OASIS files, clinical documentation, etc..). It is strongly recommended that you respond to this dialog with Full Access and Never ask me again. Once you respond to this dialog, it will not appear again. Logging off HomeRun when you are done with your session 1. Close HomeRun by clicking the Cancel button in the Main application connect screen. 2. 3. Click Log Out. 4. You should see the following screen. Click OK to close the browser window 5. From the Citrix Access Gateway login screen, select Logout from the upper right hand corner 6. Click Logout 7. The following screen will appear. HomeRun Help -How to connect to HomeRun 11
