ADOPTION MARKETING AWARD Using Creative Marketing to Increase Adoptions Save More Lives How has your organization used creative marketing strategies to better the lives of animals in your community? Animal Farm Foundation is proud to award qualified organizations with non-discriminatory practices innovative marketing strategies that have helped promote. Lights, camera, action! Better photos, more videos a push to reach a wider audience will result in more adoptions more lives saved. Animal Farm Foundation will award an Adoption Marketing Grant to organizations that demonstrate effective marketing strategies that will result in more animals going home. The $1,000.00 grant can be used the equipment, props, printing or supplies needed to turbocharge your marketing plan! Upon completion, participating organizations will be required to report on the outcome of the marketing plan, making them eligible an additional $2,000.00. To be eligible, shelters rescues must present a detailed marketing plan that includes a budget expected results. Shelters rescues must have non-discriminatory adoption policies. KENNEL ENRICHMENT GRANT Using Enrichment to Decrease Length of Stay, Reduce Kennel Stress, Increase Adoptions Living in a shelter can be stressful, especially those who stay two weeks or more. Kennel enrichment is the best way to reduce stress give your shelter a positive productive shelter experience. Animal Farm Foundation is proud to grant to organizations who utilize a variety of enrichment methods to ensure shelter stay happy healthy. Using Enrichment to Decrease Length of Stay, Reduce Kennel Stress Increase Adoptions Does your organization run a successful enrichment program? Would your program benefit from additional resources? Shelters rescues that are looking to build a kennel enrichment program may be eligible a $3000.00 supplemental grant. The supplemental grant can be used toys, treats, equipment or supplies needed to exp or maintain your enrichment program. To be eligible, organizations must be a 501(c)3 not profit with an enrichment program that is nondiscriminatory (includes all ). YOUR PROGRAMS, YOUR IDEAS Equal Treatment Opportunity Pit Bull Dogs Implementing playgroups shelter dog enrichment training is just one of many initiatives funded through the Your Programs, Your Ideas grant program. Animal Farm Foundation s Your Programs, Your Ideas grants allow qualifying organizations to submit funding proposals that do no fit into one of our established grant programs. We use this program to fund initiatives outreach, socialization, adoption, research, education. Your Programs, Your Ideas submissions should support our mission to secure. RECENT YOUR PROGRAMS, YOUR IDEAS GRANTS INCLUDE: Success Through Socialization: Longmont Humane Society is an open admissions facility that implements Aimee Sadler s success through socialization program has achieved a 95% live release rate. In addition to rewarding Longmont Humane Society their nondiscriminatory policies, Animal Farm Foundation has also sponsored the Success Through Socialization program across the country, including: Baltimore Animal Rescue Care Center Washington Humane Society Pennsylvania SPCA Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society Animal Welfare League of Arlington Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA Community Outreach: Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) operates a low-cost spay neuter clinic. Recognizing a need to make afdable pet care more accessible some Philly pet owners, PAWS established the Sarge Fund to provide free low-cost vaccines sterilization surgeries. Animal Farm Foundation supports PAWS in their eft to help people care their pets. Education: Animal Farm Foundation funds presentations seminars throughout the country. SHELTER POLICY TRAINING GRANT Is your shelter still using policies procedures that restrict adoptions based on breed or mix? Does your organization require different protocols or approaches hling or adoption of? Through our shelter policy training grant, you can apply an Animal Farm Foundation representative to work directly with your organization to evaluate overhaul the programs policies, either written or unwritten, that may be preventing you from increasing adoptions. Cutting-edge research reveals that animals adopters benefit when the agency implements breed-neutral best practices to make policy adoption decisions. Animal Farm Foundation representatives will provide presentations, training program implementation guidance while working with your staff on the practical, low or no-cost solutions that work in a variety of sheltering environments (from large, open-intake facilities to limited admission private shelters even small volunteer-run rescue groups). Learn to implement strategies to increase adoptions, decrease length of stay, help staff volunteers become comtable confident as they deliver breed neutral inmation to adopters. PLAY YARD CONSTRUCTION GRANT Does your shelter need fencing repairs or construction to keep canine play groups running? Animal sheltering organizations currently creating or implementing permanent play group programs the enrichment socialization of their shelter may be eligible up to $10,000 to be used play yards. Play groups are important the enrichment socialization of in shelters but fencing construction costs can be a barrier to implementation. Animal Farm Foundation encourages animal shelters to include play groups in their daily care routines by considering proposals that would allow shelters to exp, repair or newly construct play yards. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FAQs to help you apply a grant from Animal Farm Foundation Q. Does my organization need to be a 501(c)(3) not-profit to apply? A. Yes. Your organization will need to enter your tax ID number upload a copy of the letter of determination from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that provides proof of 501(c)(3) status. Animal Farm Foundation is required to validate nonprofit status with the IRS or Guidestar. Q. What are Animal Farm Foundation s other requirements grantees? A. Animal Farm Foundation requires that grantees have no discriminatory policies or practices that all are treated as individuals We will not fund organizations that have special policies, applications, requirements, or rules. Similarly, we expect that all proposals will be inclusive of without singling them out or creating exclusive programs. Programs of interest think big picture can benefit all the animals or in the shelter. Back to Top Q. What is an LOI? A. An LOI is a Letter of Inquiry. It is the first step in the granting process, is an abbreviated version of a full grant request that includes an introduction, a description of the organization, a statement of need. For our purposes at Animal Farm Foundation, the LOI m asks some basic questions about your organization allows you to introduce your request. You will complete the details in the grant application, once the LOI is approved. (continued on next page)

Q. How will I know if my LOI is approved? A. You will receive an email upon approval of your LOI, within two to four weeks of submitting it online, directing you to begin the Grant Application process. Q. How long does the entire grant process take? A. The stard time frame, from submitting your LOI to being approved or denied a grant, will be between eight twelve weeks. During this time, Animal Farm Foundation may contact you with additional questions. Each grant submission is unique, it is our goal to respond to all inquiries submissions in the order they are received as quickly possible. Q. Will Animal Farm Foundation consider funding requests that are not included in one of the established grant programs? A.Yes. Animal Farm Foundation has a grant called Your Programs, Your Ideas that will evaluate grant requests that do not fit our existing grant programs. We have used this program to fund initiatives outreach, socialization, adoption, research, education. As with other Animal Farm Foundation grants, submissions Your Programs, Your Ideas should support our mission while not reincing misinmation or stereotypes. Programs of interest will impact many animals in your care, including but not limited to. Q. How often can I apply a grant from Animal Farm Foundation? A. Beginning in 2012, you may apply each grant from Animal Farm Foundation once per calendar year. We have a variety of funding opportunities available recommend that you review them all thoroughly choose the one that will be the most successful your organization most beneficial to your your community. Q. What won t Animal Farm Foundation fund? A. Animal Farm Foundation will not fund capital campaigns, staff positions/employment, or programs that underwrite breed specific legislation (BSL) of any kind.
