HEALTH CARE BENEFITS Mission:Health From health and wellness benefits to our work/life and financial programs, Mission:Health gives employees the tools and resources they need to manage their own health and wellness. With easy access to services and programs, you and your family can get started or stay on the path to better health. Mission:Health Medical Coverage Wellness Reward Vision Care Coverage Dental Coverage You, your spouse/samesex domestic partner, and eligible dependents can elect Raytheon s health benefits upon your date of hire if you are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. In order to cover your spouse/ same-sex domestic partner and dependent children for medical, vision and dental coverage, you must submit the required documentation as proof of eligibility (such as a joint tax return, birth certificate, marriage license, etc.). Note that in states where same-sex marriage is recognized, same-sex domestic partner coverage does not apply. Medical Coverage Raytheon offers medical plan coverage to our U.S. based employees. Coverage options include traditional plans where you pay a set copayment or coinsurance for services, to plans that give you more flexibility in how and when you pay for health care, plus the option to save tax-free dollars for future health care expenses in a health savings account (HSA). Employees on International Assignment are eligible for a medical plan that provides worldwide coverage for all expatriate employees, including domestic coverage for their eligible dependents remaining in the United States. Because your contributions toward the cost of your coverage are made on a pre-tax basis, due to IRS rules you may only change your medical plan election annually, or when you experience a qualified change in status. All of the plans provide coverage for preventive care, at no cost to you. Prescription drugs, doctor s visits, hospitalization, surgery and mental health care are also covered by all of the plans; however, depending on the plan you choose and if you choose to receive in- or out-of-network services, you will either have a copayment or coinsurance for these services, or you will need to first meet a deductible before receiving benefits. Online tools you ll find on Desktop Benefits, our benefit portal, can help you choose the plan that best meets your needs. Wellness Reward The Wellness Reward is an incentive program designed to reward healthy activities. You can earn a $250 Wellness Reward by participating in certain wellness activities. In addition, your spouse/same-sex domestic partner who is enrolled in a Raytheon-sponsored medical plan will have the opportunity to earn his/her own Wellness Reward for a total possible Wellness Reward of $500 per couple! Wellness accounts can be used to pay for a variety of eligible out-of-pocket expenses that health plans do not cover, including copayments, deductibles and coinsurance. Vision Care Coverage If you enroll in a Raytheon-sponsored medical plan, you automatically receive the Basic Vision Plan at the same coverage level you choose for medical coverage. The cost of the Basic Vision Plan is taken on a pre-tax basis. If you need a higher level of vision coverage, you may instead elect the Vision Plus Plan. The amount you pay for this plan is based on the coverage level you choose. If the coverage level you choose is different from your medical plan coverage level, only the dependents you designate will have vision coverage. Dental Coverage Under the dental program, you have the choice of up to three dental options a preferred provider plan with a High Option and Low Option, or you may choose to enroll in a Dental Maintenance Organization (DMO) if a network is available where you live. You have the flexibility to choose the dental option that makes sense for you and your family. If you only have basic dental care needs, such as annual check ups or cleanings, then the Low Option may be sufficient. On the other hand, if you or members of your family need more extensive treatment, including orthodontia, then the High Option or DMO (if available) may better meet your needs. Both allow you to select the coverage level that makes sense for the kind of dental expenses you and your family members expect to incur. You share in the cost of the medical plan, the Basic Vision plan, the Vision Plus plan, and the High Option Dental plan and DMO, through pre-tax payroll deductions. There is no cost to cover you and your family for the Low Option dental plan. 1
HEALTH CARE FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS (FSA) Health Care FSA A Health Care FSA helps you pay for eligible health care expenses such as deductibles, copayments, and services that your or your spouse s medical, dental, and vision care plans do not cover or cover only in part. Through payroll deduction, you may set aside on a pre-tax basis up to $2,500 per year in a Health Care FSA. Health Care FSA Dependent Care FSA Dental and Vision FSA You are eligible to enroll in these accounts upon your date of hire provided you are regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week. Once you enroll in a Health Care FSA, you will receive a Spending Account Card you can use at participating providers (such as doctor s offices or pharmacies). When you use your card, the amount of your transaction will automatically be debited from your account. Dependent Care FSA A Dependent Care FSA helps you pay for eligible dependent care expenses using pre-tax dollars. Examples of eligible expenses include most forms of child care up to the age of 13, as well as certain forms of adult care necessary in order for you and your spouse, if married, to work or go to school full time. Through payroll deduction, you may set aside on a pre-tax basis up to $5,000 per year if single and $2,500 if married and filing separate returns. Dental and Vision FSA Federal regulations prohibit health savings account (HSA) participants from having any other coverage for medical expenses, including health care FSAs. However, because dental and vision expenses can also be reimbursed through an FSA, if you elect to participate in an HSA Advantage plan, you may also enroll in the dental and vision FSA. The dental and vision FSA works just like the health care FSA, with the same maximum contribution of $2,500, except only dental and vision expenses are eligible for reimbursement medical expenses are not. You set aside money from your paycheck through regular payroll deduction before federal and, in most cases, state or local taxes are withheld. This money goes into your account(s) and is used to reimburse expenses tax-free per IRS regulations. If you do not use all of the money in your account(s) each year you forfeit the unused funds. LIFE & ACCIDENT INSURANCE Basic Life Insurance Optional Life Insurance Dependent Life Insurance Accidental Death & Dismemberment Business Travel Accident Insurance You are eligible to enroll in these plans upon your date of hire provided you are regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week. These plans can help provide additional financial security in a time of need. You may elect this coverage even if you do not elect optional life insurance coverage for yourself. Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance You can purchase coverage of one to five times your annual base pay. If you choose optional AD&D insurance for your family and/or same-sex domestic partner, your dependents coverage will be a percentage of the amount you choose for yourself. Short-Term Disability Long-Term Disability Occupational LTD You must be actively at work and regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week for your disability benefits to be in effect (otherwise they go into effect on the first day you return to work). Pre-existing condition exclusions may apply. DISABILITY BENEFITS Short-Term Disability (STD) You are automatically enrolled, at no cost, in the basic Short-Term Disability Plan and may receive benefits if you are absent from work due to a non work-related disability caused by an illness, injury, or pregnancy for six consecutive week days or more. After a waiting period (five business days), the insurer pays 75% of your base pay for up to 10 consecutive weeks of your approved disability, which includes the unpaid, five-weekday waiting period. STD Plus Coverage You can elect to supplement the company-provided coverage by purchasing optional STD Plus coverage equal to an additional 25% of your base pay completely tax-free for up to 10 consecutive weeks of your approved disability which includes the unpaid, five-weekday waiting period. If you are disabled, the plan will then provide up to 100% of your pre-injury/illness base pay for up to 10 weeks. Long-Term Disability (LTD) Long-Term Disability coverage is optional. It provides income replacement when a non-work related illness or injury keeps you out of work for more than 10 consecutive weeks. Benefits generally continue for as long as you are disabled or until you reach age 65. You may choose to receive either 50% or 60% of your basic monthly earnings, up to a maximum monthly benefit payment. (Benefits will generally be reduced by other income you receive.) LTD benefits will begin when your STD benefits are exhausted, provided you remain disabled. If you do not elect this benefit and are disabled for more than 10 consecutive weeks, your income replacement will end. Occupational LTD The Occupational LTD plan supplements state workers compensation benefits you receive if you are unable to work due to a work-related illness or injury, if those benefits are reduced due to state benefit limits. To receive a benefit from the occupational LTD plan, you must have an annual salary that will allow you to qualify for plan benefits. To be eligible to elect coverage, you must be enrolled in the LTD plan, and have an annual salary that allows you to qualify for plan benefits. Raytheon pays the full cost of your basic STD benefit. You pay for the cost of STD Plus, LTD and Occupational LTD coverage through after-tax payroll deduction, so any of those benefits you receive are considered non-taxable income.
