Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Department April 22, 2016 KUDOS Kylie Ainslie named to ENAR Council for Emerging and New Statisticians (CENS)! Congratulations Kylie! Good news! NCI Early Detection Research Network awarded a new $4.2 million grant to serve as a center for developing and evaluating new tests to detect prostate cancer. Team leaders for the project at Emory include Dr. Martin Sanda, Professor and Chair, Urology, Dr. Eugene Huang, Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Rollins SPH, Dr. Dave Schuster, Associate Professor of Radiology at SOM, and Dr. Carlos Moreno, Associate Professor of Pathology and Bioinformatics at SOM. The Emory team will also be joined by collaborators Dr. Daniel Lin at University of Washington and Dr. Lorelei Mucci at the Harvard School of Public Health, who lead large prospective national cohorts of prostate cancer survivors that will participate in the biomarker studies. The novel detection tests to be studied include a novel urine test developed at Emory that assays of over 200 prostate cancer associated genes, and an PET imaging using FACBC, a radio tracer developed at Emory. The urinary genomic testing will be conducted in conjunction with Dr. Zwick and Dr. Hegde of the Emory Genomics Core and the Emory Genetics Laboratory, respectively.
