On this page you can initialize the first manual connection via the API to make sure that the backup Server has been successfully connected. 6. Select All or the Backup Server you just added in the list, choose a date and click Run a. Please note that if you are doing this in the morning there might not be any reports to fetch yet, so you might want to try to select yesterday s date. 7. If the connection was successful you will get a response as in the image below, telling you shortly how many Backup users, Backup sets and Backup jobs were found on the server for the selected day. 8. You are up and running!
Page 3 of 5 Structure inside Zimonitor From the Ahsay Backup server we get the objects: Backup user, Backup set and Backup job, we use them in the same way in Zimonitor. We have created two more objects that we call Group and Client. These objects are used to be able to categorize all the Ahsay objects and furthermore be able to restrict access for users to data within either a specific Group or a specific Client. When found for the first time, all Backup Users are added to a Client object called Unassigned that resides in the Default Group object. The Default group and the Unassigned client are default objects belonging to the Zimonitor framework and should not be edited or deleted. If you have a one to one relationship between your own clients and your Backup Users, meaning each one of you clients is represented by one single Backup User on the Backup Server, you can configure your Backup Server object so that Zimonitor will automatically create a Client object for each Backup User it finds.
Page 4 of 5 Automatically creating Client objects Zimonitor can be configured to create a Client object for each Backup User on a backup server. 1. Start by creating a new Group from the Dashboard >> Groups >> Add. 2. After creating a Group, go to the Edit view of the Backup server from Dashboard >> List >> Edit 3. Set Auto Client to Yes in the Backup Server edit form (it is a bit further down in the form) 4. Use the auto complete form field for Default Group and select the Group you just created. (start typing the name of the group and it will show up in the list). After selecting it the form field should say something like My New Group [nid:3]. 5. Save the Backup Server object Next time a new Backup user is fetched from the backup server it will create a new Client object with the same name as the Owner field of the Backup user set in the backup server.
