Depending on availability, the conference rooms can be rented to private companies. The CCV is closed since end 2014 (renovations). 17 The FIPOI is a non-profit-making private foundation created jointly by the Swiss Confederation and the State of Geneva in 1964. Its purpose is to facilitate the establishment of international organizations in the canton of Geneva. It finances, builds, administers and maintains buildings placed at the disposal of international organizations with headquarters in Geneva. FIPOI owns the CICG. 18 The State of Geneva grants the surface rights free of charge (approx. value: CHF 300 m.). 19 The Swiss Confederation grants interest-free loans (for 50 years) through the FIPOI to the international organizations for the construction of their buildings. 20 These institutions support the Swiss authorities in their role as host country, contribute to the influence of international Geneva and to the city's continuation as the seat of international organizations. 5
