Who should complete this application? This application is for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program at Macquarie University who wish to create their own combination of bachelor degrees. Concurrent degrees are degree combinations that are not established degrees under the General Coursework Rules and do not appear as approved double degrees in the Macquarie Handbook or in the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) Guide. Do not complete this form if: your chosen degree combination is an established double degree listed in the Macquarie Handbook. You can apply for admission to an established double degree via internal course transfer or by applying through Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). you have qualified for, or are in the last session of your first degree. In this case, a second degree is a consecutive degree, not a concurrent degree and you must apply for admission to the second degree through UAC or via any other available and appropriate method. you are not ready to commence the second, concurrent degree in the upcoming session, because you cannot defer. you are an international student. How will my application be assessed? Entry to the concurrent (second) degree is assessed against course transfer criteria, which can be found at the course transfer webpage at www.mq.edu.au/course-transfer in the Course Transfer Requirements Table. Please do not submit a course transfer application, as this will result in your current (first) degree being changed to the new degree. If the course you are seeking to start is not listed on the course transfer requirements table, or if you believe you do not meet the transfer criteria, you must submit an application for your second degree via the Universities Admission Centre in addition to submitting this concurrent degree application. UAC will assess your application on a competitive basis and may take into account any non-macquarie studies. How will I be notified of the outcome? Offers for concurrent degrees will sent to your student email address once your eligibility for the degree is confirmed. Offers will be issued by early January for students assessed on course transfer criteria. Students who have applied via UAC should refer to the UAC website for information and dates regarding offer rounds. How do I apply? 1. Complete this application form. (Ensure that you complete all sections including signing the declaration.) 2. Submit your application to the Current Students team for initial assessment as indicated on page 3 of this form. 3.
