BBA 301 BUSINESS MATHEMATICS L-T-P Structure 3-1-0 MODULE 1: Simple and Compound Interest; Logarithm: Base and Index, General Properties, Laws of Operations, Use of Log Tables. Set Theory: Definition of Set; Presentation, types and Classification of Sets; Set operations; Laws of algebra of Sets, Application of Set Theory. Real Number System: Natural and integer Number System, Field of Rational, Idea of irrationals. MODULE 2: Linear Equations: solutions to simultaneous linear and Quadratic equation, Solution to Cubic Equations. Matrices and Determinants: Definition of a matrix, Types of matrices; Algebra of matrices; Properties of determinants; Calculation of determinants ( up to Third order), Adjoint, elementary row or column operations; Finding inverse through adjoint, row and column transformation. Solution of a system of linear equation by matrix inversio, and Cramers rule, MODULE 3: Permutations Definition, Factorial notation; Theorems on permutation, permutations with repetitions; Restricted permutations. Combinations: Definition; Theorems on combination; Basic identities; Restricted Combinations. Binomial Theorem: Statement of the theorem for positive integral index, General term, Middle term, Equidistant terms, Simple properties of binomial coefficient. MODULE 4: Transportation Problem. Formulation, solution, unbalanced Transportation problem. Finding basic feasible solutions Northwest corner rule, least cost method and Vogel s approximation method. Optimality test: MODI method. MODULE 5:Differentiation: Derivative and its meaning; Rules of differentiation; Geometrical Interpretation; Significance of derivative as rate measure; second and higher order Derivatives; Maxima and Minima. BBA 307 COMMERCE LAB L-T-P Structure 0-0-4 Module I BUSINESS ECONOMICS- The students are expected to draw the various demand and supply curves, costs and revenue curves and compute consumer s surplus and costs, revenues etc. Module II BUSINESS ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT- The students should go through and present case studies of entrepreneurs Success and failure. They are expected to go through partnership deed and prepare a simple partnership deed.the students are expected to know preparation of memorandum of association, articles of association and prospectus. As a group they are expected to prepare a model prospectus. The students are also expected to know the formalities of registration of a company including documents.
