1 QUALITY ENGINEERING PROGRAM Production engineering deals with the practical engineering problems that occur in manufacturing planning, manufacturing processes and in the integration of the facilities and systems for producing quality products with optimum expenditure. In general, production engineers are responsible for the development, design, analysis, planning, supervision and construction of consumer goods. Preparation for careers in production engineering requires good understanding of engineering fundamentals, material processing science and equipment, management and economics principles in order to develop proficiency in conceiving design and operating production processes. The department of production engineering offers Bachelor and Master's degree programs. The Bachelor program has been tailored to provide students with prominent knowledge on manufacturing processes and techniques as well as engineering management. The Master's degree program emphasis on manufacturing management and technology. The intention of program is to generate keen and skillful graduate engineers to be future leaders of manufacturing industry. Along with the theoretical and practical dexterity, the graduate engineers will also have enough management skill to lead and perform decision making to assist the organization, in order to enhance competitiveness. Currently, four Master's programs are being offered by the department: Leader for Manufacturing Competitiveness (LMC) Leader in Process Metallurgy Welding Engineering Quality Engineering
