B Clary [McPherson, KS]: Very helpful so far. MEIXUN ZHENG [San Francisco, CA]: the whole idea of game-based learning is cool..but it takes a whole team to develop quality learning games...this seems to be a big challenge.. B Clary [McPherson, KS]: Extremely neat! I would need a full year's sabbatical to create something like this! MEIXUN ZHENG [San Francisco, CA]: great will check it out Kevin Kelly [San Francisco, CA]: Good educational games at Nobel Prize website: www.nobelprize.org/educational/ MEIXUN ZHENG [San Francisco, CA]: thanks for sharing B Clary [McPherson, KS]: One of the better webinars I've participated in. How do you edit papers on Facebook, e.g.,? JUSTIN BRIGGLE [Marshall, TX]: Not currently using virtual office hours. Not sure how popular that would by with my students. MARITZA MENDEZ [Stockton, CA]: I do them at home occasionally but still learning MEIXUN ZHENG [San Francisco, CA]: Students seem to prefer communicating with peers via Facebook, but with faculty they don't seem want to add their teachers as FB friends:) Kevin Kelly [San Francisco, CA]: There Linda Silva: I teach an online course and Blackboard and use WIMBA for meeting with students and sharing our computers Kevin Kelly [San Francisco, CA]: There's a calculus instructor at San Francisco State who uses Skype (both he and his TAs have office hours to provide multiple opportunities to meet...both day and night) Kevin Kelly [San Francisco, CA]: He combines Skype with Google Picasa to look at pictures of student's work (can be submitted by cell phone) VIRTUAL OFFICE HOURS HOW? Kevin Kelly [San Francisco, CA]: I use them to engage with students who have questions that can't be answered asynchronously. I also use them to have regular meetings with Teaching Assistants for large classes

4 TECHNOLOGY FOR FIRST EXPOSURE B Clary [McPherson, KS]: 75-minute lecture on Transcendentalism. I don't think I would ask students to watch a 75- minute lecture.
