At the Buenos Aires International Airport (EZE), your travel guide will greet you and transfer you to your 4* Hotel Broadway All Suites, located in downtown Buenos Aires. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, walking around the neighborhood, or relaxing at the hotel's swimming pool, gym, and sauna.
Day 2 BUENOS AIRES CITY TOUR & TANGO SHOW After a hotel buffet breakfast, take a 4 hour Buenos Aires city tour. Learn why this city is called the "Paris of South America" when you see the French-influenced architecture of many of the 18th and 19th century buildings. See the Obelisk in the world's widest street, the 9 de Julio Avenue, as well as the Colon Theater, the Embassy of France, the Plaza de Mayo, the Plaza San Martín, and more. Visit each of the distinctive barrios: La Boca, San Telmo and Montserrat, Recoleta and Palermo. Finally, stroll along Puerto Madero's waterfront, past yacht clubs, skyscrapers, first-class restaurants, and the iconic Woman's Bridge. In the evening, enjoy a night on the town with a Tango Show & Dinner at La Ventana. This dinner show is held at a famous tango club, where the 30-piece Gran Orquesta de Juan D' Arienzo performs live music and professional tango dancing right before your eyes. Also included is a 3-course dinner with Argentine wine. Transfer back to the hotel is included. Day 3 EXCURSION TO EL TIGRE After breakfast in the hotel, escape from the city to El Tigre, a neighborhood where the elite "porteños" of Buenos Aires built summer homes and mansions right on the Paraná River delta. This 6 hour tour includes transportation outside of the city to the port, where you'll board a small boat for a cruise along the Paraná River's Delta. The mild temperature and the natural beauty of this region is a delightful contrast from the busyness of the city. Explore the Tigre's homes and get to know the "isleños" with a lunch in the area. Return to your hotel in the afternoon, and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 4 DAY AT A GAUCHO ESTANCIA Spend another day outside the borders of Buenos Aires proper, this time at a traditional estancia, a ranch where gauchos herd cattle and shear sheep. Much of Patagonia and the interior of Argentina was pioneered by gauchos, and the tradition continues with estancias such as this one. Travel to the Estancia Don Silvano, and enjoy many activities such as horseback riding, tractor rides, sheep and cattle herding demonstrations, as well as a delicious homemade lunch and a folklore show, where locals dress up in traditional clothing and perform traditional dances. Return to Buenos Aires in the late afternoon. Day 5 FERRY TO COLONIA & CITY TOUR After breakfast in your Buenos Aires hotel, transfer to the Buquebus Pier for the ferry ride across the Rio de la Plata to Colonia, in Uruguay. Then your guide will greet you and take you to your hotel to check in. Go on a Colonia City Tour. This city is a charming escape from the Argentine Capital, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its cobblestone streets, fine restaurants, arts and craft shops, museums, yachts, and quiet residents. Founded in 1680, the settlement was fought over by the Spanish and Portuguese. Visit the historic port, the Barrio Historico, the Ferrando Beach, the main square, and the Plaza de Toros. Return to your hotel in Colonia, where you will spend the night.
Day 6 MONTEVIDEO CITY TOUR & DINNER-SHOW After breakfast in the hotel, transfer to Colonia bus station to take a bus to Montevideo, where you will be greeted and taken to your hotel for the check-in. Explore Montevideo on a private city tour during the afternoon, and learn what makes Uruguayan life and culture distinct from Argentine culture. Contemplate the Legislative Palace, the colorful street markets, 'Plaza Independencia,' Montevideo's main square, and the traditioonal Prado district. Finish at the Old City, with is European-style architecture, and visit the typical port market, where you can eat a delectable and fresh lunch (not included). In the evening, enjoy a dinner-show where local musicians will perform and play Uruguayan genres: tango and milonga (part of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage), and candombe, a cheerful music very celebrated during Carnival. Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Day 7 EXCURSION TO PUNTA DEL ESTE After an early morning breakfast at the hotel, head out on an excursion to Punta del Este for a SIB tour. En route, visit Piriápolis and San Antonio Hill. Once you've arrived in Punta del Este, visit Punta Ballena, the iconic Casapueblo, built by the famous Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró, and discover his atelier (entrance fee not included). Tour the neighborhoods of Beverly Hills, San Rafeal, Categril Golf, and the extravagant bridge of La Barra in Maldonado. Also visit the Mansa and Brava beaches. Stroll along Gorlero, and have lunch on the port (not included). Return to Montevideo in the afternoon. Day 8 DEPART FROM MONTEVIDEO After breakfast in the hotel, transfer to the Montevideo airport for your flight home or to your next destination in South America.
