U.S. Employee Referral Program Welcome to Lubrizol! We are excited about your upcoming start with us and would like to take this opportunity to share with you information on our employee referral program. You are eligible to refer candidates to any full or part-time positions at Lubrizol once you begin employment. If they are interviewed you will receive $50! If they are hired, you will receive $500! We encourage you to submit candidates as soon as possible that could contribute to Lubrizol s future success! Program Rules All regular Lubrizol full/part-time employees, apprentices, interns, co-ops and Lubrizol retirees may refer candidates. Positions eligible for the referral program are noted on the job listings posted on the internal careers site. Employees must submit candidates in accordance with Lubrizol policies and procedures relating to hiring, paying particular attention to the policies regarding hiring of spouses/relatives and competitors, customers or suppliers. Please refer to policies located on The Channel at http://lzpub1/sites/publib1/policies%20and%20practices/forms/hiring.aspx The hiring of employees spouses is permitted for open regular, temporary, or contract positions within the company. Lubrizol does not allow the hiring of, and will not consider, other relatives for regular, temporary, or contract employment, unless it is addressed otherwise in a collective bargaining agreement. Other relatives who are not eligible for hire include: father, father-in-law, mother, motherin-law, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, son, son-in-law, daughter, daughter-in-law, stepchild, grandmother, grandfather and grandchild. The following employees are not eligible to receive referral awards: - EC members and Vice Presidents - Employees with staffing or compensation as a part of their job responsibilities - Hiring managers and employees who are directly responsible for making the hiring decision for the position - Employees who refer their spouses or any spouses of a Lubrizol employee for employment Non-employees (temporary employees, contractors and consultants) and former Lubrizol employees (including interns and co-ops) are not eligible to receive referral awards.
Candidates who have already created a profile on www.lubrizol.jobs, have submitted their resumes or previously have been referred to human resources through another source (i.e., external search firms, employment agencies, temporary agencies, etc.) are not eligible to be referred by employees. The first employee to refer a candidate will be the only individual eligible for a referral award. Only candidates who meet the basic qualifications for the position will be considered. All information regarding the referred candidate s status in the hiring process will remain confidential (i.e., employees will not be informed of the reasons for any decisions made about their referred candidate). Process for Employees to Make a Referral 1. Access the internal Employee Career Opportunities site (click on the Careers at Lubrizol link under Talent Management on the home page of The Channel). Be sure to read the program rules document before making a referral. 2. To refer someone to a specific job click on the Job Title and then click Refer a friend. Positions eligible for referral and the amount will be noted (see red arrow below). If the job is not eligible for referral, you can still click on the Job Title and then click Send this job to a friend. They may still apply but there is no referral award. 3. To refer someone to a non-specific job, hit Submit a friend s profile. Complete the application and submit. Specific Job Referrals Non-Specific Job Referrals

Your referral will receive an e-mail letting him/her know that you have submitted him/her for a position and also asking him/her to login to the system to verify their profile information is correct. 5. The recruiter for the position will see your submitted candidate on the requisition with your name indicated as the referrer. Payment Terms Both the referring employee and the referred candidate must be employed with Lubrizol at the time that referral awards are paid. Referral awards will be paid 90 days from the referred employee s hire date. The payment will appear in the referring employee s regular paycheck in accordance with the normal pay cycle. Applicable taxes will be withheld from the cash award at the time payment is made to the referring employee. The cash award will be charged back to the department that hired the person. The cash award will be paid in the currency of the country of the referring employee, regardless of where the job is based.

A: No. We encourage employees to continue playing a role in our search for talented individuals to join Lubrizol. Q. What role will I play in notifying the referred candidate of their status in the hiring process? A: All information regarding the referred candidate s status will remain confidential. Human Resources will work directly with the candidate. You will not be informed of any decisions made or the reasons for the decisions.
Q. If unsuccessful, will the person be considered for other jobs in the future? If so, will I still get the cash award? A: Yes. The system retains the referral information. Q. Will there be different levels of awards for different job levels I refer someone to? A: The minimum referral amount is $500. However, with difficult to fill positions the amount may be increased. Q. If I refer someone who has already been submitted, will I be notified? A: Yes. The system will notify you immediately if you refer a candidate that has already been referred or completed an application on their own.
