The English Department does not endorse the qualifications or guarantee the services of any of the persons who have submitted their names for inclusion on the list. Fees are negotiated on an individual basis. The persons below are listed in random order. You should read each entry carefully to make sure the editor can fulfill your needs (i.e., last minute work, tutoring, etc.). As a tutor I have worked one-on-one with both high school and college students and have developed a reading and writing intensive summer tutoring program for college-bound high school students. I am fluent in spoken Cantonese and can read some written Chinese if necessary (although I am not qualified to do translations); I also have some minor training in French-to-English translation. Advanced translation ability in French and proficiency in German. In addition to teaching at UW for the past three years in both composition and literature courses and working as a Writing Center Instructor in the Main Writing Center, Writing Center Outreach, and by Skype, over the past decade I have been editor-in-chief, guest editor, assistant editor, and an editorial intern for several academic journals, serving most recently as an editor for Edinburgh University Press. Prior to attending graduate school, I had a 15-year career as a paralegal in the federal, state, and private sectors. That experience caused me to be a very detailed copyeditor with a keen eye, as well as giving me a background in careeroriented writing, such as resumes, cover letters, and other forms of professional writing (e.g., project memoranda). I enjoy helping writers with all stages of the writing process.
