Selected Highlights Founded in 2004 in Tbilisi (Capital) by Professors Ms. Giuli Alasania and Ms. Manana Sanadze. It is one of the largest private universities in Georgia. Accredited by the National Education Accreditation Council of Georgia. Administer with the electronic system, which allows the use of modern methods of teaching. UG consists with about 300 people, 180 of which professors. Each year approximately 2000 students are admitted to the programs One of the few research oriented universities in Georgia.

Nowadays, university has around 150 international students from Asia and Africa.

New Project Founded by SIU D Project Objective: To modernize doctoral education in public health in Georgia s partner universities and comply with concept and goals of Bologna Process and international standards. The project comes in line with national and regional priorities in health and social science using the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), the three-cycle system and the recognition of degree.
New Project Founded by SIU D Elements in the Proposed Project: 1. Curriculum development. 2. Introduction of new teaching methods and teaching materials. 3. Education and training of academic staff. 4. Training of administrative/technical staff. 5. Scholarship for students (includes study, research, accommodation and catering costs). 6. Development and assistance an International on-line seminar cycle in Public Health.

Developed, adapted, accredited and implemented Joint PhD program in Public Health for Georgian HEI with Norway University in line with Bologna requirements. 2. Enhanced teaching qualification and increased teaching and research capacity. 3. Cooperation agreements between Georgian and Norway universities. 4. Disseminated project materials and findings. 5. On-line platform and developed new study methodology. 6. 10 PhD joint theses maintained in the frame of project. 7. Published Public Health Textbook in the Georgian Language.
