Design highlights Modular Thanks to its modular architecture, MuseumPlus functionality can be easily tailored to your individual requirements. You can, for example, roll out the entire suite or select individual modules and gradually expand functionality costeffectively. Integrated All MuseumPlus modules are fully integrated. All data is stored in a central database that can only be accessed by authorized users within your network. Powerful search tools let you find, share and use information quickly and efficiently across all modules or tasks. Intuitive MuseumPlus is an intuitive, user-friendly solution that can be easily individualized. You do not need any programming skills to personalize field descriptions, menu tabs and pull-down lists or create new fields. You can also create your own dictionaries and reports. To ensure the best possible user experience, Museum Plus fully aligns with the Guidance on Usability issued by the International Organization for Standardization. 89 9

Flexible Universal Standardized Multilingual To simplify reporting, MuseumPlus comes with interfaces that allow you to export information to Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Functional highlights Documentation and research Collection management Exhibitions Events Efficient, rapid, high-quality documentation and research call for a well-organized knowledge base. Positioned as the cornerstone of MuseumPlus, the collection database is structured in such a way as to simplify data entry and maximize quality and consistency. It does this through controlled vocabulary schemes, for example, also offering multiple fields and cross-reference options for the broadest possible context. Multiple fields and advanced search functionality (including cross-collection searches, hierarchical search, full-text search and expert search) allow users to retrieve information quickly and efficiently. These search capabilities extend to contextual information (such as biographies, bibliographies, sources, historical events and other media), making MuseumPlus also ideal for research and documentation projects. The bigger a collection gets, the more important it becomes to track the location and movements of exhibits. MuseumPlus is designed to enhance manageability by maximizing transparency over the entire collection, letting you track individual items at the click of a button. Collection management functionality presents you with up-to-the-minute information on the exact whereabouts of any object, upcoming relocations and transport requirements. It also gives you an overview of the exhibit s history and lets you create inventory reports. Organizing an exhibition is a complex, multifaceted task that calls for careful planning, management and tracking. MuseumPlus helps to ensure the professionalism and success of your exhibitions, providing efficient process support across the entire task chain. Exhibition planning functionality extends from venue organization through label and list printing. It allows you to reserve objects, launch loan inquiries, develop catalogs, organize photos and manage loans. A built-in project management feature allows you to track all important tasks and milestones. All events, whether they be fund-raisers, galas, tours, educational courses or workshops, need to be carefully planned. MuseumPlus streamlines event management by eliminating redundant tasks. It allows you to define daily programs, schedule events, store contact details, print lists of participants and reserve rooms and equipment. Facility management functionality includes third-party room rental and invoicing. 14 15 15

Photo and rights management MuseumPlus features a function-rich archive that makes easy work of managing your collection and loan images. This archive also includes royalty functionality that allows you to efficiently manage revenue streams from the pictures. Security features safeguard digital information against unauthorized access through watermarks. Contact management The contact management module is tailored specifically to the needs of museums. It administers all individuals/organizations that a museum may have dealings with (visitors, employees, lenders, donors, locations, press officers, insurance companies, transport companies, event organizers, etc.) and draws on this central database for tracking and invoicing purposes. Only authorized employees can access this database. MuseumPlus also draws on this database to support mailing campaigns by creating serial letters, address labels, faxes, or digital e-blasts. 17 16 17

Reporting functionality MuseumPlus offers a wide range of easyto-use reporting options for maximum transparency over activities and trends at the museum. Data can be easily exported to Word to create individual lists, for example, with the List Generator. The Search Generator runs detailed search queries that can be saved for future use. And with the LightBox function you can display, sort, and organize objects and photos. Going online emuseumplus is the perfect complement for your MuseumPlus database. It webenables your collection data, publishing it to custom-designed web pages and making it available to a wide audience 24 x 7 over a secure web server. This web application uses open source software, is modular and grows dynamically with your needs. It also integrates seamlessly with your existing web presence for a uniform corporate image. Key features include a customizable search function, various view modes, portfolio overviews, highlights, sign-on, encryption, automatic picture editing and multilingual capabilities. 18 19 19

Technical highlights Open architecture Multimedia support Synchronization/replication Security Services, support and maintenance Keeping our customers in the loop MuseumPlus can be deployed on most industry-standard databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access and Oracle. It also runs on a variety of operating system platforms including Windows. A terminal server solution (e.g. Citrix Metaframe) is available for Macintosh and Linux clients. Office integration Seamless integration with Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, Excel, Access) means MuseumPlus can easily export data, allowing you to create individual reports, statistical overview and documents. Interfaces to scanners (TWAIN) and imaging software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop) allow you to import and edit pictures directly. The multimedia module manages all digitally stored data (image, audio, video, text, etc.). Easy interfacing MuseumPlus supports business process integration with numerous standard interfaces to bar coding systems, online banking systems and geographic information systems (GIS), for example. MuseumPlus comes with a data synchronization option to ensure data integrity. Data that has been entered and modified offline (e.g. on a laptop computer) can be easily synchronized with the central database.
