LOSS PREVENTION Introduction to Loss Prevention Guidelines for Tenants and Their Employees Stockdale Management, LLC as Managing Agent for The Galleria Corporate Centre wishes to take this opportunity to express its concern for our Tenants and their employees regarding the various criminal activities to which each of us may be exposed on a daily basis. Conditions encouraging criminal activities prevail in densely populated places, such as the greater metropolitan Phoenix area. As a result, persons residing and working here receive a greater exposure to all types of criminal activity. The ideas and suggestions contained in the Guidelines were taken from a number of sources, including publications and materials provided by local law enforcement agencies in metropolitan areas across the country. To reduce crime, emphasis must be placed on preventative rather than reactive measures. Preventative measures against office thefts, burglaries after hours, and crimes against persons can best be achieved through the individual efforts of Tenants and their employees. To minimize incidents, it is important that you establish and periodically review policies, procedures, rules and regulations. All employees must understand the importance of their part in helping to ensure a more safe and secure working environment. With these thoughts in mind, we offer the attached guidelines for reducing the criminal s opportunity of selecting your business or employee as a victim. Please note that Stockdale Management, LLC as Managing Agent for The Galleria Corporate Centre does not provide security services to or for any Tenant. Where uniformed guard services are contracted, it is on behalf of the Building Owners only and protection of their interest. Uniform Guards contracted on behalf of the Building Owners, are generally powerless to assist or take police acting in most criminal matters in Tenant space. All criminal activities should be reported immediately to the police.

Guidelines for Preventing Losses and Reducing Opportunity for Criminal Acts 1. Receptionists are the first line of control to recognize a potential intruder. Therefore, it is important that the receptionist be responsible and properly trained. Reception desks should never be left unattended while your office door is open for entry. 2. Visitors, guests and applicants for employment should not be allowed beyond the receptionist desk without an escort. If the situation warrants, require ID tags for employees and visitors in your leased space. Arrange in advance with the respective access control company for after-hours visitors to the building; give their name and expected time of arrival. Advise visitors of the correct procedure for building entry during these hours. Employees and visitors must be instructed that when entering building by use of key card, they must not let anyone else in with them. Authorized persons should understand that they must follow the proper entry procedure on each occasion in order to maintain the integrity and proper continuity of loss preventions procedures. 3. Persons announcing a delivery, pick-up, repair or service of equipment should be identified and escorted on each occasion when responding to your suite. It may be advisable to appoint a person as coordinator of these functions. 4. Report immediately to the local police suspicious persons or activity. The police and fire department emergency number is 911 for all local jurisdictions. Also report persons loitering in a public corridor, elevator, garages, restrooms, stairways, unknown persons in your leased space, strange odors, etc. Employees should report: a. Building Address b. Floor c. Specific descriptions of individuals (clothing, height, etc.) This may aid the police in locating a suspect who has taken refuge inside your building immediately after committing a crime. It may also aid the police in apprehending a suspect who has been identified while investigating an earlier crime reported in the vicinity. Also advise the Building Management Office at (480) 949-3200. 5. All business equipment of value on the premises, whether a large or small in size, should be registered in a master file by serial number or marked permanently in some identifiable fashion in the event of theft. Employees who use personal equipment for business should also personally mark or record serial numbers in the event that items are stolen. With accurate description and identification, the police will be able to enter this information in the National Criminal Information Center Computer, accessible by al US law enforcement agencies. In the event items are found or recovered in the course of a police investigation, they can be confiscated and returned to the legal owner. 6. Employees should keep purses and small, easily concealed items of value under lock when not in their immediate control. Do not leave small office equipment (calculators, recorders, laptops, etc.) visible on desks and tables in unoccupied offices. Also, it is important not to place purses under desks, on floors of restaurants, theatres or restroom stalls. Employees should be cautioned against hanging coats containing wallets or other valuables on the doors of restroom stall. Employees should be especially alert on crowded elevators to becoming the victim of a pickpocket. Whenever possible, women should use purses with a flap or wallets in an inside coat pocket or front pants pocket. 7. Employees should be informed that a door routinely kept licked should be tested on each occasion to be certain it has latched closed and locked.

8. All keys, including a card key for building access, should be issued on a need-only basis. Employees should sign for keys as a control measure and be instructed never to loan their keys for any reason. Assign a person to be responsible for key control issuing and recovery from a terminating employee. If an access card was issued to a terminating employee, report to the Management Office for cancellation of that employee s card number. If a suite door key is lost or stolen, you may wish to replace the lock cylinder. Contact the Management Office (480) 949-3200 if such replacement is contemplated. 9. Check doors and accessible windows or other openings for proper working of locking mechanisms. 10. Be conscious upon entering your suite prior to regular business hours (when a receptionist is not on duty) that your suite door handle is locked from the outside and has latched securely behind you. This is also applicable for after work hours and closing the office. If your office suite entrance door has a dead bolt lock, use it. 11. Do not accept bargains for sale by strangers. The merchandise may be stolen. Immediately notify the Management Office (480) 949-3200 when there are solicitors in the building. 12. Keep seldom-used or unoccupied offices locked. 13. Keep desks, file cabinets, safes, etc. locked when not in use, especially in unoccupied offices. 14. Before closing at the end of the business day, designate a person(s) to check unoccupied or remote areas of the office for a possible hide-in. 15. Designate persons who are responsible to secure equipment and the office at the close of business. 16. If credit cards are stolen, report immediately to the issuing company and police. 17. In self-park garages, always remove keys from ignition, secure windows and lock doors. If key must be left with attendant, leave only required key. 18. Avoid leaving valuable items in a parked vehicle, or at least keep such items out of sight, locked in the trunk. 19. Avoid leaving registration card in parked vehicle. 20. As you approach your parked vehicle, be on the look-out for loiterers in the area. Always look inside your vehicle before entering. 21. Employees may wish to carry a small, plastic, police-type whistle on a key ring when working or walking in a secluded area inside the building, outside or while traveling at night, for use if accosted. You are law enforcement s strongest ally in reducing crime. Be alert and reduce the opportunity for crime to occur.
