Advocacy Over 73,000 messages to legislators in our 10 Western states in response to online action alerts Stroke Legislation passed in AZ and NV Arizona delivering stroke care based on most up-to-date science Establishing designation of primary stroke centers in Nevada Passed a landmark ordinance in the City of Los Angeles that bans smoking in outdoor dining areas 17

Emergency Cardiovascular Care Trained over 10,000 students in CPR using our CPR Anytime kits Increased the number of Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) to provide infant CPR training for parents before they leave hospital from 3 in 2010 to 12 currently Secured funding from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation to provide CPR training to seventh-graders at Title One schools in the Salt Lake City School District 18

Community Health Hosted an affiliate-wide Fit-Friendly Company webinar in January Helped 85 organizations in the Western States Affiliate receive Fit-Friendly recognition in the winter application period 19

Health Equity Raised $52,000 to host the Go Red Por Tu Corazón Luncheon and Latina Heart Health Conference in Los Angeles Secured sponsorship and hosted a Juntos Contra El Derrame Cerebral workshop in Orange County Raised $15,000 and educated more than 50 African American community members at a Faces of Power event 20

Communications and Marketing Launched bi-monthly e-newsletter, the Volunteer Voice Secured amazing buzz and media coverage of Go Red For Women festivities in February Garnered over 4 billion total media impression from July 1, 2010-June 30, 2011 far surpassing our excellent goal 21

Mission: Lifeline & Stroke Established 12 new Mission: Lifeline stakeholder groups committed to building STEMI systems of care in largely rural areas Secured approval for the California STEMI document from the governor and it has now been distributed throughout all 31 EMS systems Expanded Saving Strokes to 4 new sites in California, reaching over 1,000 stroke victors and caregivers Served over 4,000 community members with 30 Power To End Stroke events and activities in Las Vegas 22

Quality Improvement Initiatives Hosted 14 Get With The Guidelines Pursuit of Clinical Excellence events in the Western States Affiliate with a combined total of more than 1,200 attendees Secured funding to host a Stroke Coordinators Meet and Greet during International Stroke Conference in Los Angeles, bringing together 160 medical professional from our 10 Western states to network and share best practices for stroke care Expanded programs to the outpatient setting with the Guideline Advantage 23
