What are the key risks? Investment involves risks. Please refer to the Explanatory Memorandum for details including the risk factors. PRC Market Risk Many of the economic reforms in the People s Republic of China ( PRC ) are unprecedented or experimental and are subject to adjustment and modification, and such adjustment and modification may not always have a positive effect on foreign investment in joint stock limited companies in the PRC or in B-shares and H-shares. The PRC government s control of currency conversion and future movements in exchange rates may adversely affect the operations and financial results of the companies in which the Sub-Fund may invest. Emerging Markets Risk Investing in emerging markets may involve a greater risk of loss than investing in developed markets due to, among other factors, greater political, tax, economic, foreign exchange, liquidity and regulatory risks. Concentration Risk The concentration of the Sub-Fund s investments in the Greater China region may result in greater volatility than portfolios that comprise broad-based global investments. Risk Relating to Distribution There is no guarantee of dividend or distribution payments during the period you hold the Units of the Sub-Fund. If the Manager determines to make a distribution from the realised capital gain or income of the Sub-Fund, investors should be aware that the Net Asset Value of the Sub-Fund will decline. Credit Analysis and Credit Risk The investment strategy to be utilized by the Manager may require accurate and detailed credit analysis of issuers. There can be no assurance that the Manager s analysis will be accurate or complete. Investment Risk An investment in the Sub-Fund may involve a high degree of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. The value of the Units in the Sub-Fund and the income accruing to the Sub-Fund, if any, may fall or rise. - 3 -
