Electronic Drilling Recorder Minimize wellsite risk Early kick detection The EDR s pit volume totalizer (PVT) incorporates sensors and customized software that enable early kick detection. Unmonitored, an influx of formation fluid into the well can lead to a blowout. The PVT provides an early warning of this hazard, allowing wellsite personnel time to take proper preventative measures. Equipped with a flowback monitor and a specialized software application, our EDR s PVT can detect a kick even when the mud pumps are off, such as during connections. Many conventional tools are unable to detect a kick when the pit volume increases as a result of flowback the flow of typically small volumes of drilling mud into the pit when pumping stops. However, the risk of a kick persists when the pumps are off, stemming from the corresponding reduction in equivalent circulation density (ECD). Our EDR s PVT uses a specialized monitor and software to plot flowback, enabling users to view trends that may be indicative of a kick. data and service Local and remote access Wellsite personnel can view all EDR information on a configurable, user-friendly display. Our WellWizard integrated data system uses Wellsite Information Transfer Specification (WITS) and Wellsite Information Transfer Standards Markup Language (WITSML ). These standard industry communication protocols facilitate effective communication among other service providers. This enables timely on-site and remote access to a wide spectrum of pertinent well information, including additional surface logging data and LWD/MWD measurements. Remote access via Weatherford s WellHub permits key stakeholders and off-site drilling optimization consultants to access pertinent data and to make critical decisions without incurring the need to travel to the wellsite, saving time and money. Weatherford s EDR allows users to monitor a wide range of drilling and rig-related parameters locally, at the wellsite, or from remote locations. Its user-friendly WellWizard software facilitates data access, organization and analysis. The drilling display allows users to track drilling parameters while simultaneously monitoring other EDR data. The EDR display consolidates key drilling parameters and other pertinent EDR data onto a single screen. Users can customize the way in which the data are configured. Options include time- and depth-based views. 6 WITSML is a trademark of Energistics. 2010 Weatherford. All rights reserved. In the gauges display, users can view a precise measurement of hookload, among other critical parameters.
Electronic Drilling Recorder Experience expansive service EDR operations are supported and serviced through Weatherford s global network of more than 800 locations in approximately 100 countries. A team of more than 1,500 highly experienced surface logging specialists help integrate EDR with our other mud-logging services and software. In doing this we expand our service to provide true drilling optimization torque and drag, tour tracking, wellbore hydraulics, pore pressure and much more. The PVT display enables users to view pit volumes, key to kick detection and prevention. WellWizard software is equipped to store third-party information, including LWD data.
