Oracle Retail Allocation Release Notes Release 14.1 E58971-01 December 2014 This document highlights the major changes for Release 14.1 of Oracle Retail Allocation. Overview A retailer's most important asset is its inventory. Oracle Retail Allocation helps retailers determine the inventory requirements at the item, store, and week level using real time inventory information. The system calculates individual store need based on parameters you set - whether it's the characteristics of the product, the store, or the category. The result is an allocation tailored to each store's unique need. Oracle Retail Allocation allows you to allocate either in advance of the order's arrival or at the last minute to leverage real-time sales and inventory information. And when you do allocate, the system provides you the flexibility of basing your allocation on different methods such as: merchandise plans, sales history or a demand forecast. Hardware and Software Requirements See the Oracle Retail Allocation Installation Guide for information about the following: Hardware and software requirements Oracle Retail application software compatibility Note: Oracle Retail recommends the use of a wide-screen monitor for the Oracle Retail Allocation, Release 14.x software. Mozilla Firefox is the recommended browser for the Allocation, Release 14.x software. 1

Functional Enhancements The following functional enhancements are included in this release. Note: The following terms are used interchangeably within the application and the documentation: Style/Color is interchangeable with Parent/Diff Rules is interchangeable with Policies Warehouse-to-Warehouse Allocation Allocation has been enhanced to provide the ability to create allocations with a virtual warehouse as the destination location. In addition to stockholding stores, a virtual warehouse is now recognized as a valid destination location, while creating Standard, What-If, and Scheduled allocations. Once a warehouse-to-warehouse allocation is calculated and approved, it results in the movement of goods from the source warehouse to the destination warehouse. Default Auto Quantity Limits Allocation provides the facility to control the store need as well as the allocated quantity with the help of Quantity Limits, which are applied at the item/location level. This feature provides the capability to store the set of Quantity Limits in the database table prior to the creation of an allocation. By selecting the Auto Quantity Limits check-box in the Quantity Limits tab, the stored values are displayed in the Quantity Limits window. These values are used during the calculation process of an allocation containing the relevant merchandise hierarchy. In case the data is present at multiple hierarchical levels, the one at the lowest level is used. Spread to All Locations The Spread to All Locations feature is enabled when the total available quantity is not fully allocated and additional quantity is available to allocate. This remaining quantity is spread using the Proportional or Evenly mode to the desired group of locations without the need to navigate back to the Policies window, editing the rules and associated parameters and re-calculating. Default Allocation Release Date Allocation provides the ability to default the release date for an allocation based on a system option setting. The logic used for defaulting the date is based on the set of item sources present in the allocation. This functionality reduces the user effort of having to set a release date manually every time an allocation is created. Hiding Columns in a Worksheet Allocation provides the ability to hide columns in a worksheet which improves screen utilization in the Worksheet by displaying only the sources selected during the search process. The rest of the sources are not displayed even if they have non-zero availability of the items being allocated. 2

Technical Enhancements The following technical enhancements are included in this release: Note: The list below announces the addition of Oracle Retail support for the technology described. See the Installation Guide requirements section for critical information, such as whether the enhancement below replaces previous versions or is supported in addition to already existing versions. Database Server Support Oracle Retail Allocation Release 14.1 is supported for use with the following database server: Oracle Database 12cR1 (12.1.0.1.4) Enterprise Edition Browser Support Oracle Retail Allocation Release 14.1 is supported for use with the following browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 Security Technologies Oracle Retail Allocation Release 14.1 is supported for use with the following security technologies: Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 11.1.2.2 Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7) Allocation Maintenance Review/Results Synchronization In the previous releases, the review section and result section of the maintenance page were not kept in sync until the time of save or calculation. This logic has been changed so that the edits in the Results section update the Final Allocated Quantity in the Review section dynamically. WebCenter Removal WebCenter is no longer required to support the Allocation technology stack. Basic functionality which was provided with WebCenter in previous releases, such as dashboard configuration, is now supported through configuration. ReSTful Web Services This release includes a number of Allocation ReSTful Web Services. These services are built based upon a mobile application point of view as defined by Oracle Retail. The services are designed to support the mobile application functionality defined in this point of view. Integration Enhancement The following integration enhancement is included in this release: 3

RSL Removal To be consistent with Oracle Retail Enterprise changes for 14.1, Allocation integration to RMS for What If Purchase Order creation was modified to remove the Retail Service Layer (RSL). This tool was replaced by direct RMS package calls using the Allocation wrapper package, to be consistent with other Allocations RMS interactions. RASRM Integration Allocation is integrated with the Retail Application Security Roles Manager (RASRM) which provides retailers the ability to align the security model for Retail Fusion applications (Allocation, ReSA) with their own business model. RASRM accomplishes that through the Manage Roles Mapping and Manage Duty Roles features.
