Once enrlled, hwever, new emplyees becme subject t the rules gverning all emplyees, and n benefit changes can be made until the next Open Enrllment Perid withut a Qualifying Status Change event. MEDICAL INSURANCE The Riverside Transit Agency pays fr the full-time emplyee health premium up t the lwest HMO medical premium in CalPERS based n emplyee-nly rate in Riverside Cunty and cntributes $420 twards the dependents mnthly premiums. PPO cverage is ffered; hwever, RTA will pay up t the lwest HMO as specified abve. Please refer t the attached rate sheet fr a list f health plans and rates currently being ffered. IN-LIEU-OF MEDICAL CONTRIBUTION The Riverside Transit Agency gives yu the ptin t waive yur medical insurance cverage and elect an RTA cntributin f $110 per mnth t yur 457 deferred cmpensatin accunt in lieu f medical cverage fr yurself. Yu will need t prvide prf f ther cverage. Yu may als be eligible fr an additinal $110 per mnth if yu have eligible dependents that yu d nt wish t cver n the medical insurance. Prf f dependent status will be required (i.e. Marriage certificate and/r birth certificate). Yu may elect t enrll in ur medical plan and waive medical cverage fr yur eligible dependents. The maximum mnthly amunt that yu can receive is $220 ($110 fr yurself and $110 fr dependents). SUPPLEMENTAL LIFE INSURANCE Supplemental life insurance is available frm Standard Life at yur wn expense fr yurself, spuse, and children. Emplyee ptinal life - cverage can be purchased up t 5 times yur cvered annual earnings, nt t exceed $250,000. New hires may elect up t $200,000 withut medical underwriting. Spuse ptinal life - cverage can be purchased up t $250,000, nt t exceed 100% f the emplyee ptinal term cverage amunt. New hires can elect up t $20,000 spuse life withut medical underwriting. Children ptinal life- cverage can be purchased up t $10,000, nt t exceed 100% f the emplyee ptinal term cverage amunt. New hires can elect child life withut medical underwriting.
AD&D LIFE INSURANCE Accidental death and dismemberment life insurance is available frm Standard Life at yur wn expense fr yurself, spuse, and children. Cverage can be purchased up t $350,000 withut medical underwriting. AFLAC INSURANCE Yu may elect tw vluntary plans frm Aflac at yur wn expense fr yurself, spuse and children. The Grup Accident Plan- pays a benefit fr the treatment f injuries suffered as the result f a cvered accident utside f wrk. The Grup Critical Illness Plan- prvides a lump-sum benefit fllwing the diagnsis f specific cvered critical illnesses. New hires may elect up t $20,000 withut medical underwriting. Pre-existing cnditin prvisins still apply. PAID TIME OFF Yu are entitled t the fllwing paid time ff: Hlidays six (6) fixed hlidays and five (8) flating hlidays. There is n waiting perid t be eligible fr the fixed hliday pay. Vacatin 10 days f paid vacatin in the first three years f emplyment up t a maximum f 30 days at 24 years and after. Sick leave 7 days f paid sick leave n yur first year anniversary up t a maximum f 12 days at five (5) r mre year s cntinuus full-time service. The retirement benefits prvide fr: 2% at 62 this is the current benefit factr frmula, in additin t yur age at the time f retirement, used in determining the percent f pay t which yu are entitled t fr each year f service. The emplyee cntributin rate is 6.25%.
