Medicine courses 2(11) About Studies: Exchange program students may apply for an exchange period at the Faculty of Medicine through the ERASMUS and Nordplus exchange programs. Also medical students from universities with which the University of Helsinki has bilateral agreements, may apply for exchange to the Faculty of Medicine. Exchange students spend one semester or one complete academic year at the Faculty of Medicine. Each year a set of courses are offered in English for the foreign exchange students. All courses consist of clinical teaching in theory and in practice. We apply the problem based learning method (mentoring) and bed-side learning in small groups during the courses. Students may choose courses according to their interest. In addition, it is possible to arrange practical training periods in various clinical subjects during the periods when there is no suitable course instruction available.
