CURRICULUM VITAE NAME: ALEJANDRO IBARRA-YUNEZ DATE AND PLACE OF BIRTH: JULY 11, 1952 IN PUEBLA, MEXICO AREAS OF PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY: Alejandro Ibarra-Yunez is a full professor of Economics and Public Policy, at the Department of Economics at ITESM (1978-present), and the Graduate School of Business and Leadership (EGADE Business School) at the same Institution (1983 to present). His specialization areas are International Trade and Finance, International Integration, Economic Modeling, Industrial Organization and Regulations, Econometrics, Latin American Economics, NAFTA and trading blocs. In the past years, he has worked in the areas of imperfect contracts in international integration, problems of moral hazard, game theory, and economic networked sectors (telecommunications, infrastructure, transport, energy, banking, and multinational subcontracting). At present he holds the chaired professorship in Network Economics and Regulations. For his contributions in his lines of research, Ibarra-Yunez has been awarded the National Researcher, level 1, by the Mexican National Council of Sciences and Technology (CONACYT): SNI- 1. Ibarra-Yunez is also professor of International Integration, Industrial Organization, and Economic Problems and Policies of Latin America, University of Texas at Austin since 1994 as summer visiting scholar. In 2011-2012 he is a leading visiting professor of public policy conducting a graduate group thesis on US-Mexico challenges and opportunities for electricity trade, investment, and policy cooperation. Administratively, Ibarra-Yunez has been director of the PhD Program in Business Administration and Management, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey campus, from January 2004 to 2008; Chairman of the Department of Economics, and the Econometrics Research Unit (UNET), 1980-1987.
