Orlando, FL School of Leadership and Management The purpose Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership and Management (PHD) program is to provide the candidate with an advanced competencies and biblical insights through the teaching, preparation and observation for those actively involved in vocational Christian ministry of education. Graduates of the (PHD) program will be prepared to: Demonstrate an advanced understanding and integration of ministry in relation to the biblical, leadership, academic, and business administration disciplines. Articulate and apply a comprehensive and critical philosophy of ministry. Demonstrate advanced competencies in the areas of critical thinking, Research and Writing, Biblical Theology, Biblical Communication, Administration/Education Leadership, and Great Commission Strategies. Plan, implement, and critically evaluate major undertakings in ministry toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. Evaluate personal, spiritual, and professional development and design a plan for lifelong learning. An Online (PHD) Degree Based on Biblical Principles and Values, Designed Specifically for Christian Business Executives and Leaders The Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership and Business Administration degree provides individuals with the opportunity to develop advanced business skills using the flexibility and convenience of distance education. The curriculum consists of 64 hours of study and provides a solid foundation in major business functional areas. Ethical business leadership, information literacy, speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills are emphasized throughout the curriculum. This program is available to qualified (PHD) candidates both in North American and internationally. Admission Requirements 1. Earned or be within 6 semester hours of a Master s Degree or its equivalent* 2. Proficient in the English Language. The Admissions Committee considers many factors when reviewing an admissions application. Among those factors are work experience, grade point average (2.75 on a 4-point scale or 6.0 on a 10-point scale) in previous academic work, professional references, and performance in prerequisite courses.

For students whose GPA is lower than 2.75 (or 6.0), and who have 5 or more years of professional experience, the Admissions Committee will consider the quality and diversity of work history to determine their eligibility for admission. Application Procedures All applicants to the PHD program must submit the following in order to be considered for admission: 1. A portable document file is available for download. Applicants are encouraged to fill out the form using the form fields. After saving the completed application you may email it to mydmission@ccudl.com 2. Official transcripts and other documents showing completion of a Master s degree or its equivalent 5. A resume indicating applicant s work history and at least two professional recommendations. Admission Process Upon receiving the completed application, transcripts and other documents, the graduate admission committee will review your application and make a determination on your admission status as Regular Status: Students meeting the minimum requirements will be granted acceptance with regular status. Provisional Status: Students who do not meet the above minimum admission requirements may be granted acceptance with provisional status. Students granted provisional admittance may take no more than three post-graduate courses, provided that the students already have the necessary qualification to take the post-graduate courses. They must also achieve a 3.0 GPA during their first three courses. After completion of 3 courses with the required GPA, the students status will be changed to regular. Students who do not have a minimum GPA of 3.0 after the completion of the 3 courses will be dismissed from the program. Denial of Admission: Applicants may be denied admission when evidence displays that the applicant: Is not qualified or is under-prepared to pursue a graduate degree. Engages in behavior contrary to the codes of the university. Has submitted fraudulent information or documents. Displays unstable emotional health. Degree Learning Format The CCU (PHD) degree is a completely 100% online learning experience. Enrolled students will use the CCU online course management system which allows students to interface online with their professor and other students. Each course lasts approximately 6-8 weeks. During the course students will be expected to read and research materials, participate in online discussion formats, participate in team assignments and projects, complete individual assignments and projects, and complete online assessments. This type of learning will allow professors and students interact in truly global environment. A truly unique aspect of the CCU Online DBA program is the integration of Christian Ethical principles and values into each course. Each week there will be an application of Christian based ethical values and their relation to the topics and learning objectives being covered.

Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership and Management BUS-703 Strategy of Leadership and Administration (3-hour) This course introduces the administrative strategy of leadership and administration involved within the church today. PHL754 INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY Description: Well-organized presentations of most of the significant philosophical positions make this book an excellent reference tool. BLD-764 Leadership V (Feeding & Leading) From the viewpoint of the theological, practical and sociological aspects, this course is designed to focus on sound leadership practices from the business world without sacrificing Christian principles. Pastors, church leaders, and business leaders will walk away with tools and ideas that can be used immediately BUS-784 Church Administration All the basics for developing and implementing effective church administration in one convenient volume. Good administration is essential to the mission of a church and the leadership of clergy and lay leaders. BLD-794 Leadership That Matters Description: Leadership That Matters promotes leadership that not only improves productivity and performance but also makes a positive difference in the lives of organization members. "Transformational leadership" is based on three personal characteristics, as well as on the organization s culture. PHL824 History of Christian Thought This course exposes the student to the Judaic and Hellenistic origins of existentialism. The work stands at once as a valuable introduction to the theological tradition and to the major concentration to and classification of Tillich s systematic Theology. This work is brilliantly authoritative and comprehensive, while remaining clear and uncluttered. ETC834 Christian Ethics This course provides key principles for the study of Christian ethics; this volume examines "moral" character and values in light of the scriptures, and explores the content of Christian ethics and its meaning to believers today. BLD-854 Laws of Leadership The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You This course takes the student further to a more comprehensible perspective and personal appreciation of the obligations facing those who perform leadership roles in the church and in other organizations. This course gives clear direction to those becoming the leaders of tomorrow. BUS-864 Leadership Handbook of Management and Administration Description: This course covers the full spectrum of ministry practice. Readers will learn about perennial topics such as time management, negotiating the terms of a call, handling crisis and conflict, hiring and managing staff, conducting special fund drives, spending church money, and dealing with tax and law considerations.

BUS-874 Management Essentials for Christian Ministries Description:Management Essentials for Christian Ministries is a thorough examination of management principles for Christian ministries including churches, enominations, and parachurch organizations. Contributors represent a diverse denominational cross section. BUS-884 Advertising Concepts and practices of advertising and the role of advertising in the marketing mix. Relationship between media characteristics and various kinds of goods and services and their respective markets will be studied. BUS894 Research Methods for Decision-Making Business research projects that reduce business risk. We examine use of effective research to support effective decisions in the workplace. Research is a systematic inquiry to create just enough business information to guide effective business decisions, including strategic planning. We will plan, acquire, analyze and present findings and insights that help an executive take appropriate actions that optimize mission performance. Business research expenditures are increasingly scrutinized for their contribution to resolving management dilemma - the problems or opportunities that requires an informed decision. Our course will deal with issues including: information overload; community relations; increasingly critical scrutiny of big business; managing talent; multivariate analysis; and, real-time access to knowledge. PHL894 Philosophical Foundations for a Christian Worldview Combined with biblical exegesis and biblical theology, philosophy is the most important field--historically and conceptually--for developing a Christian worldview. As we make clear in the text, systematic theology itself, as well as attempts to integrate one's field with biblical teaching, essentially depends on philosophy being done with excellence. PHD893 Practicum Student design curriculum as practicum Doctoral students are required to write to full curriculum as part of their practicum. Curriculums include course outline, syllabus, and a final examination which comprises of questions and answer. Id the student is in a teaching capacity, a video or DVD of the actual class can be sent in lieu of the curriculum. Normally, this assignment carries no credit hours. PHD900 Dissertation Research Project (20-hour only for PHD degree) Description: This dissertation project must be a significant original work in nature, which will seek to make a contribution to the world of Educational world. This final course culminates the entire course of studies and research required by this program. This is a very involved endeavor and will require an undivided attention. The research project comprises two part a quantitative and a qualitative research. Both parts must demonstrate doctorate level quality of work in respect to magnitude of effort and the end product for such program. Student allowed choosing their own research topic and getting it approved by the Dissertation Review Board. Upon the approval of the research topic, a proposal containing the first three chapters, table of content and partial bibliography must be submitted to The Dissertation Review Board. A fee of one hundred ($550.00) dollars must be submitted with the proposal. Proposal will not be reviewed without this fee.

The Review Board will review the research proposal. The board will either approve it, approve it with recommendations, or denied it. If the dissertation is denied, a separate fee will be required for revisions. Students are solely responsible to present the research project as required the first time to avoid any denial proposal and extra fee. Upon the final review and grading of the final research project, the student will submit two bound copies to the school. One will be graded, endorse, and return to the student and one copy will remain the property of the school. Cornerstone is not regionally accredited. What does that means?
