PROGRAM LOGIC & RISK COMBINED BACK-TESTING DATE DRAWDOWN & ANNUALIZED & COMBINED PORTFOLIO PERFORMANCE FAQs Regards, Paul Tsangaris
INTRO Olympus is a proprietary trading strategy that collectively pieces together a series of trading parameters over a portfolio of 7 currency pairs to execute a leveraged market strategy. HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK? 7 The program is based on minimizing capital risk and maximizing overall performance. Olympus utilizes a money management strategy that assesses and adjusts traded volume on a monthly basis across all accounts using the system but makes its calculations based on each individual account that uses the system. CURRENCY PAIRS EUR/AUD GBP/CHF EUR/CAD GBP/JPY EUR/JPY AUD/CHF EUR/NZD
PROGRAM LOGIC The system operates using a directional strategy that triggers a buy or sell signal based on a series of mathematical algorithms and technical parameters. The strategy sets 3 specific profit objectives with each target being a function of market volatility. This includes the implementation of either a Static or Average True Range based target which is predetermined using back-testing and calculated according to the characteristics of the currency pair being traded. RISKS Once the strategy has identified an entry point or position level, a stop loss is allocated to that position based on a series of Fibonacci number calculations on volatility. Mechanical failures such as a loss of connection to the server on which the system operates. While this is rare, it can occur. The system according to standard leverage has had a maximum historical drawdown of 6.4% over the past five years. Strict manual override intervention will be initiated at approximately 30%. As we are unable to predict future market movement, losses could exceed this level. A trading buffer has been inflated to allow for market volitility. It is possible for an automated trading system to experience anomalies such as execution issues.
COMBINED BACK-TESTING DATA The chart below demonstrates the assumed performance of the program on each of the seven currency pair s over a 5 year period (1 January 2009 1 July 2013) based on a $10,000 investment: The past performance of this product is not and should not be taken as an indication of future performance. Caution should be exercised in assessing past performance. This product, like all other financial products, is subject to market forces and unpredictable events that may adversely affect future performance The below chart illustrates the assumed net equity curve - the sum of/total performance of the system in correlation to the 7 currency pairs based on a $10,000 investment: The past performance of this product is not and should not be taken as an indication of future performance. Caution should be exercised in assessing past performance. This product, like all other financial products, is subject to market forces and unpredictable events that may adversely affect future performance
DRAWDOWN During the 5 year back-test period (1 January 2009 1 July 2013), the largest drawdown over the course of the five year period would have been 6.4%. The drawdown was calculated based on the accumulation of closed positions throughout the five year period moving in real time. This includes multiple currency pairs running at a loss concurrently with other pairs within the model portfolio. The below chart demonstrates the assumed running net drawdown in real time over the five years (1 January 2009 1 July 2013) of back-testing based on a $10,000 investment: The past performance of this product is not and should not be taken as an indication of future performance. Caution should be exercised in assessing past performance. FAQ S What is the process for withdrawals and depositing of funds? What is the time frame for each to be expedited? Funds may be withdrawn or deposited at request by the client at any time. Deposits: Deposits are put into a client holding account and not straight into the system as it may affect the capital allocations for current active accounts using the system. Withdrawals: Clients must be aware that due to the nature of the strategy (which trades for many clients at the same time), funds will be withdrawn when the market has exited all open positions. This can take up to two weeks and therefore clients must be aware that the final withdrawal amount may not equal the initial requested withdrawal amount due to the unknown outcome of current open positions. Therefore, the end withdrawal amount could be greater or less than the initial requested withdrawal amount. What is the process for cancellation? There are no subscriptions or minimum term commitments or lock-in periods. Clients can cancel at any time please see details regarding withdrawals in previous FAQ. Can the system be tested using a demo MT4 account? Clients are unable to implement the system on their own IFM MT4 demo however, IFM maintains a running demo account for anyone to view via a 3rd party which tracks and audits the account s performance. This demo simulates live trading conditions and performance. Can a client log into the MT4 to view their performance live? Yes, clients can access their MT4 account via their personal log-in details 24 hours per day and view all information pertaining to their account and trades. Can a client modify their orders and stops? Will this impact the strategy? Clients can modify any open or pending positions. IFM strongly advises against this as it may adversely affect account performance. You may contact us if you have any queries or concerns.
