WebSphere Commerce V7 Feature pack 1 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation This presentation provides an overview of the Brazil starter store in WebSphere Commerce V7.0 feature pack 1.

Table of content New features Install Performance Limitations 2 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation The Brazil starter store is based on the Madisons starter store. This presentation begins with an overview of the new features added on Brazil starter store. It then briefly introduces the Brazil starter store installation steps. Some performance and limitation topics are also covered in this presentation.

New features Brazil starter store, including Localized look-and-feel Brazilian user data (CPF, CEP, CNPJ) Brazilian-style promotions Payment-based promotions Shipping promotions Promotions by manufacturer Featured promotions for individual items Brazilian payment methods Installment payments Software Express integration Boleto payment 3 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation A new starter store for the Brazil market is available in WebSphere Commerce V7 Feature Pack 1. The starter store enhances the existing Madisons Web 2.0 store with features for the Brazilian market. The store includes pages that are enhanced with visual design elements consistent with typical Brazilian e- Commerce sites, such as large numbers of advertising spots and featured items. The user registration supports business and consumer user data specific to Brazil, such as the CPF number. The CPF number is similar to a social security number and is required on all e-commerce transactions. The CEP field is the Brazilian zip code. For business users, the CNPJ field takes the place of the CPF number. Brazilian sites display many promotions, typically on individual products. The promotions engine was enhanced to support advertising promotions on individual products. Promotions based on payment type (typically Boleto) and manufacturer are typical. Free Shipping is also a common promotion. Some of the defining features in the Brazil market are around payments. Brazilian users typically pay for goods online using installment payments that are offered and managed by credit card companies. Boleto payment is an alternative form of cash payment where users can print out a form describing their order and pay for it at a bank. Sample code is provided for supporting Boleto payments. Sample code is also provided for integrating with Software Express, a leading payment gateway in Brazil.

Brazil starter store localized look-and-feel Madisons Brazil header Additional espots on top and sides of home page Featured Products 4 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation The Brazil starter store is easily distinguished from the Madisons starter store by looking for the Madisons Brazil logo in the header. The home page has several additional espots, consistent with the informationdense style of Brazilian e-commerce sites. A banner ad at the top of the page, a rotating Flash ad showcasing installment payments, and additional ads in the right column have been added. Brazil sites typically advertise large numbers of featured items on the home page, so 20 featured products have been added to the Brazil starter store s home page.

Brazil starter store localized look-and-feel Large number of featured products Forms of Payment on footer banner 5 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Here you can see the length of the Brazil starter store home page, with additional featured products and espots. At the bottom of the home page, the supported forms of payment are advertised, which might include credit card, Boleto, and debit. You can customize this banner to reflect the appropriate payment methods.

Product-specific featured promotions 6 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation The featured promotions that apply to each product are displayed on the home page, category pages, and product details pages. The promotions engine is invoked to determine if a particular product qualifies for a featured promotion. For each featured product on the home page or category pages, a promotional price, featured non-payment promotion, featured payment promotion, and featured shipping promotion are displayed.

Brazilian user data Register as a consumer or business user Consumer users supply CPF number Like a social security number Required for all online purchases Restricts purchases by non-brazilians CEP is the Brazilian ZIP code 7 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Brazilian users either shop as a consumer or a business user. When consumer shoppers register, they must provide a CPF number. A CPF number is like a social security number, and is required for all e-commerce transactions. The CPF number is validated to make sure it is correct from syntactic perspective. The requirement for a CPF number effectively limits shoppers to those with Brazilian addresses. The Brazilian ZIP code is called the CEP number. Since shoppers are expected to have Brazilian addresses, the Brazilian address format is displayed regardless of the language selected by the shopper.

Brazilian user data Brazilian business users are like consumer users except for a few extra user registration fields Business users supply CNPJ number (instead of CPF) Company Legal Name Company Short Name (optional) Company Tax ID (optional) 8 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Brazilian business users use consumer Web sites just like consumer shoppers. The only difference between business and consumer shoppers is that some different information is collected during registration, which includes CNPJ, company tax ID, company legal name and company short name. Note that these fields are collected during user registration, but company legal name, short name, and tax ID will need additional customization to integrate with back end payment systems, such as Boleto and Software Express.

Brazil promotions and Web activities Promotions Payment-Based promotions Stackable with other order promotions Promotions based on manufacturer attribute Shipping promotions Web activities New Action: Display Promotional Price New Target: Promotion Checker Storefront support Integrated Unbound Payment for recalculating cart based on promotions applicable to payment method selected Featured promotions calculated for individual products 9 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Additional promotion types and enhanced existing types are added for the Brazilian market. Payment-based promotions, such as 5% off with Boleto, are common in Brazil. The payment-based promotions typically apply to an entire order and are now stackable with other promotions that apply to the entire order. Promotions can be based on a catalog entry s manufacturer attribute. A new action and a new target for Web activities has been introduced. The new action is Display Promotional Price, which shows the adjusted price after applying a particular promotion. The new target is the Promotion Checker, which evaluates a particular promotion against a particular catalog entry to determine if the promotion applies or not. The Brazil storefront has integrated unbound payment support, which means that the shopper can choose a payment method during checkout and any promotions based on that payment method is automatically factored into the cart total. Also, the storefront supports featured promotions for display on individual products, such as Free Shipping.

Payment-based promotions Select stackable so that it can be combined with other order-level promotions 10 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Payment-based promotions, such as 5% off with Boleto, are common in Brazil. An example of a payment-based promotion in Management Center is shown here. In this example the Combine with other promotions stackable is selected so that the promotion can be applied with other order-level promotions. Combine with other promotions stackable can be combined with all other promotions in an order. In addition, this promotion can be stacked on top of other promotions in the same group, which overrides certain promotion policies. Combine with other promotions can be combined with all other promotions in an order; however, these promotion policies apply: For catalog-entry promotions: If this promotion is applied to an item, no other catalog-entry promotions can be applied to the item. For shipping promotions: If this promotion is applied to an item, no other shipping promotions can be applied to the item. For order promotions: If this promotion is applied to the order, no other order promotions can be applied to the order. If Exclusive within the same group is applied, no other promotions from the same promotion group can be applied to the order. For example, if this is a catalog-entry promotion, no other catalog-entry promotions can be applied to the order. If Exclusive within an order is applied, no other promotion can be applied to this order.

Shipping promotion 11 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation A Brazil free shipping promotion is shown here. Combination with other promotions is selected to Combine with other promotions. Since it is not marked stackable, it won t allow other shipping promotions to apply to the same item, but it can allow other shipping promotions to apply to the cart.

Featured promotions Web activities Featured shipping promotion Featured non-payment promotion Featured payment promotion 12 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation On the Brazil storefront, three different Web activities are used to display featured promotions. Each Web activity points to an espot with a specific name that is coded into the JSP files. The three different types of featured promotions are Featured Shipping Promotion, Featured Non-Payment Promotions and Featured Payment Promotion. Featured Shipping Promotion uses the new promotion checker target to determine if the product being evaluated qualifies for the specified shipping promotion. Featured Non-Payment Promotions is used for displaying things like categorylevel promotions. It uses the new action Display Promotional Price to display the discounted price after applying the promotion. Featured Payment Promotion displays the promotional price after applying the discount. The payment promotion is only displayed if it applies to All Payment Methods. Note that either the Non-Payment Promotion or the Payment Promotion is displayed in the featured item espot in order to conserve space. If both are defined, the non-payment promotion takes precedence.

Brazilian payment methods Installment payments Software Express integration Boleto payment Internet Banking (Punchout Payment) 13 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Internet banking is the term used in Brazil for online payment through services like PayPal. However, in Brazil, there is no dominant internet bank. Instead, each bank has its own mechanism for doing internet banking. The sample code for punchout payment can be used for internet banking support in the Brazil store.

Installment payments Customer pays for order using monthly installments charged to a credit card Customer wants highest number of payments with lowest interest rate Rules defined based on agreements with credit card companies and manufacturers 14 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Although installments support is not necessarily unique to Brazil, the Brazil store is currently the only store that includes support for installments in the WebSphere Commerce. Installments support consists of WebSphere Commerce Management Center for creating and managing installment rules, a runtime engine for evaluating installment rules and storefront enhancements to display the installment options available to consumers.

Installments tool New top-level item in Management Center Calendar view supported 15 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation A new Installments tool is introduced in the WebSphere Commerce Management Center to allow you to create and configure the installments rules. Here you can see the installment rules in list view. You can also view them in the calendar view.

Creating installment rules in Management Center Similar to promotion rules Include priority, start / end date Rules based on category, product, manufacturer, payment method Can exclude categories and products Configure installment options as shown below 16 Braz il starter store 2010 IBM Corporation The WebSphere Commerce Management Center includes the ability to create new installment rules. The marketing manager role is authorized to use the installments tool. Users familiar with the promotions tool will see the similarities with the installments tool. Users cannot exclude based on manufacturer or payment method. Instead, users can create multiple rules, one for each manufacturer or payment method to include. At runtime, the installments engine evaluates the rules against a particular product to determine the installment options available. Only one rule is chosen for a given product, and priority is used to distinguish between multiple qualifying rules.

Installment payments - storefront See Featured Installment Option for individual products See list of available options in product details page Choose number of installments at checkout 17 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Installment payments are reflected in several pages, including the home page, category pages, product details, and checkout. You can customize the popup on the product details page for different payment methods, shown on the right side of this slide.

Boleto payment Alternative form of cash payment for online orders in Brazil Procedure to use Boleto payment Customer creates order online, selecting Boleto payment Customer prints out Boleto form from order summary page Customer takes Boleto form to bank and pays for order Bank notifies merchant Merchant ships order 18 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation Boleto is an alternative form of cash payment for online orders in Brazil. To use the Boleto payment, a customer first creates an order online by selecting Boleto payment. The customer then prints out the Boleto form from the order summary page, brings it to the bank and pays for the order in cash. Then the bank notifies the merchant. Finally, the merchant ships the order to this customer.

Sample Boleto form 19 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation A sample Boleto form is shown here, which contains merchant, customer and order information.

Boleto sample code Sample integration code provided in WebSphere Commerce Information Center Uses Simple Offline Payment plug-in Additional sample code for updating order status after Boleto is paid for Uses jboleto open source library 20 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation WebSphere Commerce provides the sample code for integrating with a Boleto form-generation library. An open source library jboleto can be used to generate the Boleto form. It is not shipped with the Brazil starter store. You have to download the library if you want to use it. Some sample code is also provided for taking a file of processed Boletos given by a bank and updating the order status in the Commerce database. There is no standard way of communication between the banks and the merchants, so this sample code might not be appropriate in all situations.

Software Express integration Software Express is a leading payment gateway in Brazil Sample payment plug-in provided in WebSphere Commerce Information Center Uses SiTef libraries and simulator Available by business relationship with Software Express Tested on Windows and Linux 21 Brazil starter store 2010 IBM Corporation WebSphere Commerce does not ship any Software Express code, nor is it available for download from the Software Express Web site. You must contact Software Express for the required files. WebSphere Commerce provides sample code to interact with the Software Express files. The libraries and simulators are tested on Windows and Linux, but support for other platforms can also be available.
