Application Instructions Applying for Admission All students interested in pursuing a degree program at La Salle University must file an application for admission. You may apply using the paper application, electronically at www.lasalle.edu, or through The Common Application. La Salle has no preference as to the method used to apply. Note 1: If applying electronically, please download the Academic Recommendation Form and give it to the appropriate individual to submit via surface mail. Note 2: If applying electronically, please forward your essay by surface mail or e-mail. The application fee is waived. Official supporting documents may be included if the envelope is sealed by a school official. Please note: Unofficial transcripts and score reports will not be reviewed by the Committee on Admission. *Application Fee Waiver: The $35 application fee may be waived for eligible students. La Salle requires an official fee waiver signed by a counselor or adviser. Important Freshman Dates November 15 Early Action Deadline All students who apply by this date will be reviewed and notified of a decision by December 15. After this deadline, the Committee on Admission reviews applications on a continual basis. Applicants receive a decision approximately four weeks from the time the application is complete. January 15 Scholarship Applications Due Applications for the Christian Brothers and Community Service scholarships are due by this date. Founder s Scholarships do not require a separate application. April 1 Regular Application Deadline Applications received after this date will be reviewed on a spaceavailable basis. May 1 National Candidates Reply Date Admitted applicants must reserve their place in the class by forwarding the appropriate deposit, which is non-refundable, by this date. Important Transfer Dates December 15 Spring Semester Application Deadline May 1 Priority Transfer Deadline Applications received by this date will be considered for Founder s Scholarships. August 1 Transfer Application Deadline Applications received after this date will be considered on a space-available basis. Financial Aid Deadlines Please Note: La Salle s FAFSA Code is 003287. February 15 Financial Aid Application Deadline Freshman and Transfer applicants wishing to be considered for needbased financial aid must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by this date. Applications received after this date will be considered for University aid if funds are available. April 1 Financial Aid Notification Date Students who have been admitted to the University, and whose applications for financial aid are complete, will receive their financial aid award no later than April 1.

Required Essay For All Applicants (Freshman and Transfer) On a separate piece of paper, please submit a personal statement of between 200 and 400 words discussing one of the following topics: 1) How La Salle s urban Philadelphia location will enhance your college experience 2) An experience where you have exhibited one of the following Lasallian values: a) A deep respect for each individual b) In which your intellectual and spiritual development have gone hand and hand c) A passion for learning 3) Any special or extenuating circumstances you wish to discuss Transfer students who have been out of school for more than one semester are encouraged to discuss how they have been spending their time. All students wishing to apply for need-based financial aid must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Academic Recommendation Form General Information The Committee on Admission requires a Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, or adviser. Freshman Applicants Complete Section I and submit the form to your school counselor or adviser. The counselor should fill out Sections II and III and forward this along with all official school transcripts and a school profile. Transfer Applicants In place of this form, please submit at least one Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, or adviser. International Applicants An Academic Letter of Recommendation must be submitted in English. An official translation should be included if necessary.
