Analysis Tool for MOST25, MOST50 and MOST150 CANalyzer.MOST 3 Take advantage of the convenient Vector tool CANalyzer.MOST to analyze the MOST bus successfully. This tool gives you access to monitor the data in the ring and allows you to stimulate the ring as well. Furthermore, CANalyzer.MOST offers the analysis of CAN and MOST with a common time base (gateway use case). Interactive Analysis > In the Trace window you can observe the data of the control and asynchronous channels that are transmitted via MOST messages. For a more comprehensible display, these data are interpreted with the help of the Function Catalog. Thanks to the integrated combiner, segmented data like AMS and MOST High Protocol are also displayed. Color highlighting of events due to static characteristics or dynamic analysis results facilitate the visual analysis of the bus communication. > The Central Registry describes the current ring. It is displayed in a separate window and can comfortably be checked against a reference registry. > Important hardware and network states, e.g. Light & Lock, configuration status, node addresses or bus load are displayed in the Status window and the Bus Statistics window respectively. > Data values can be viewed numerically or graphically by selecting properties from the Function Catalog and displaying them in the Data and Graphic windows. > The FBlock Monitor provides an overview of all application states, which have been communicated via MOST. > The Interactive Generator Block for MOST allows you to send messages and sequences via CMS, AMS or the asynchronous channel. After selecting the message from the Function Catalog, even complex parameters can easily be set. > Use the Stress window to generate bus load conveniently on the control and asynchronous channels or to apply unlock sequences. > Audio streams in the synchronous area of the MOST frame can be selected for listening. It is also possible to feed in audio data onto the ring. Automated Analysis > Use the Replay block for e.g. sending of prerecorded message sequences onto the ring or for executing user input sequences. > The integrated CAPL programming language supports analysis and synthesis of messages, as well as packets. Access to the registers of the network controller and to all network states is also possible. Furthermore, stress functions can be started and integrated into test sequences. The streaming API allows to transfer the synchronous channels via USB to and from the PC. > The Logging records control messages, packets of the asynchronous channel, network states and register changes of the MOST controller, each with precise time stamps. The offline mode assists in later visual or automated analysis of the total system. MOST specific analysis features in CANalyzer.MOST
4 Development and Test Tool for MOST25, MOST50 and MOST150 CANoe.MOST CANoe.MOST essentially offers the same wide range of analysis capabilities for MOST systems as CANalyzer.MOST. In addition, CANoe.MOST improves the efficiency of your ECU development and system integration by means of automated tests and clear and concise reporting of test results. The Network Services needed for individual component tests are provided to you, including the capability for remaining bus simulation. CANoe.MOST offers you the following functions: > Automated analysis and tests > Core Compliance Tests (add-on) > Integrated solution offers full analytical capability in parallel to running tests and simulations > Network Services (AMS, MHP, Network Master, Connection Master, NetBlock, etc.) > Access to control and asynchronous channel, as well as to the MOST controller > Access to the synchronous channels > Support by Function Catalog > Stress functions (bus load, light & lock errors) > All functions can also be used in multibus solutions with CAN, LIN and FlexRay using a common time base Device and System Tests > Test modules support you in device and system tests by clear sequential flow and reporting in XML or HTML. > You can use CAPL test modules to stimulate the MOST ring and wait for reactions of MOST devices, system events or user actions and define MOST messages with the syntax used in the MOST specification. You will be supported by an inline typing assistant based on the Function Catalog. > XML test modules are used to configure frequently recurring test patterns, and can be supplemented by CAPL programming as necessary. The clear structure of the modules simplifies automatic generation of extensive test suites based on your test or system descriptions. > In both types of test modules you can concentrate on developing the actual tests. Reporting is largely automated. > It is easy to start typical MOST surveillance tasks with little effort, e.g. tests to determine whether critical unlocks occur during the test sequence. CANoe.MOST monitors these conditions in the background without loss of clarity in the test description. > In single device tests, CANoe.MOST provides a complete run time environment for starting up and shutting down the device to be tested by the integrated Network Services, Network Master and Power Master. > The Core Compliance Tests specified by the MOST Cooperation are available as an add-on and can be used for development tests at your standard work place. > For testing important error cases or comprehensive ECU functions, as required during Compliance Tests, CANoe.MOST can be used together with VT System. VT System is a high-performance modular hardware test system specifically designed for test automation with CANoe.MOST. Compliance test of MOST devices
6 Hardware Interfaces for MOST with USB 2.0 Port VN2610 and VN2640 The development, simulation and testing of MOST networks requires high-performance, robust and user-friendly hardware interfaces. The very fast MOST bus interfaces VN2610 (for MOST25) and VN2640 (for MOST150) are the ideal solution for use with a laptop or desktop computer. Features and Advantages The VN2610 and VN2640 MOST bus interfaces offer access to the control channel, asynchronous channel and synchronous data via their USB 2.0 interface with high data throughput and low reaction times. They have one optical S/PDIF input and one output. The synchronous channels can be transmitted via USB to or from a PC for analysis or further processing. Additional Vector CAN, LIN and Ethernet interfaces can be synchronized with the MOST bus interfaces. They let you perform effective development and analysis work on all vehicle bus systems with CANoe and CANalyzer. The XL Driver Library and the MOST Analysis Library are available for specialized in-house applications. Access to MOST150 Two new components are being used in the VN2640: > Vector MediaLB+ IP Core is used to access the OS81110 MOST controller with maximum bandwidth and very low latency. The use of OS81110 ensures compatibility of the node mode with other ECUs. > Vector Spy150 IP Core offers quick access to all bus information. In addition, the VN2640 offers an ECL interface which allows monitoring the ECL synchronously to MOST and e.g. CAN. You can also simulate ECL participants and initiators including fault injection. A high throughput of up to 24 MByte/s and low latency times of typically less than 2 ms (even under 1 ms on the packet channel) completes the performance of the VN2640. Application Areas The two MOST bus interfaces, VN2610 and VN2640, are well suited for all application areas in the MOST field. In interplay with CANoe.MOST or CANalyzer.MOST, you create messages very easily. In node mode you can send them to bus participants. At the same time, all messages and packets can be recorded (spy mode), filtered, displayed and logged. In a gateway development, the time stamps of CAN, LIN and Ethernet messages can be synchronized very precisely with those of MOST messages, e.g. to check signal paths or propagation delays. In another step, CAPL programming language lets you functionally simulate an ECU over CANoe. These use cases are enabled: > ECU simulation for rapid prototyping > Remaining bus simulation for ECU development in the network > Verification and conformity tests for release of ECUs and software revisions > Driving trials with subsequent evaluation and reproduction of recordings. The interfaces are also designed specifically for use in the vehicle. This is reflected in the wide ranges for temperature and voltage, and in the electrically isolated interfaces which protect against ground offsets.
