Passenger Vehicles The UAE accounted for $483 million or 8.2% of Georgia s total exports of passenger vehicles to all export markets during 2012-14. Companies exporting to the UAE include Suzuki Manufacturing of America in Rome. Turbojet Parts The UAE accounted for $168 million or 4.5 % of Georgia s exports of turbojet parts to all export markets from 2012 to 2014. Companies exporting to the UAE include Gulfstream (General Dynamics) located in Savannah and UAE owned Doncasters in Rincon. Aerospace The UAE accounted for $292 million or 1.7% of Georgia s exports to all export markets from 2012 to 2014. Companies exporting to the UAE include C- 130 manufacturer Lockheed Martin of Marietta and business jet manufacturer, Gulfstream of Savannah. Aventure Aviation manufactures aircraft parts in Peachtree City. Generators The UAE accounted for $95 million or 7.9% of Georgia s exports of generators to all markets during 2012-14. Companies exporting to the UAE include Perkins Shibaura in Griffin. 1

The following table summarizes some of the key investments since 2006. Opened a new U.S. based office in Duluth. Mattex, will invest $60m in a new extrusion plant and U.S. HQ. The opening will create 200 new jobs by 2016 and is anticipated to be between 25,550 sq m and 34,840 sq m. It will serve North American markets and will begin operations in 2014. Georgia, State- Wide Summary Services Services are a growing component of US and world trade. Georgia companies selling services to the UAE include the following (non- exhaustive list). The positive employment effects attributable to Georgia exports of manufactured goods to the UAE are the easiest to calculate and the table below summarizes estimated job gains over the 2006 through 2014 period. Direct employment refers to manufacturing jobs at exporters. Indirect employment quantifies the estimated job gains in ancillary sectors such as transportation and input suppliers. Induced employment reflects jobs that are generated by the additional spending of earnings resulting from exports. Georgia Congressional Districts Associated with Top Exports to the UAE Georgia exported $154 million of automobiles to the UAE during 2014. Automobile exports to the UAE increased significantly between 2010 and 2014 rising from $64 million in 2010 to $153 million in 2014. Gulfstream and Doncaster are both located in this area. Two other important aerospace clusters in Georgia are around Columbus, where companies such as Pratt & Whitney and Cessna are located, and in the Atlanta area (Lockheed Martin). The aircraft industry in Georgia employs nearly 15,000 workers in 38 companies. UTC (Pratt & Whitney) and Lockheed Martin have sales offices located in the UAE. Much of Georgia s exports to the UAE are produced in plants located in the northern part of the state, represented by districts 9, 10 and 11. GA- 11 is northeast of Atlanta and includes companies such as Suzuki, an automobile manufacturer, Dickow Pump, a pump manufacturer, and Shaw, a carpet manufacturer. GA- 9 is north of Atlanta and includes other carpet manufacturers and the bulk of the state s poultry production. 4
