She studied Classical Philology and Theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the University of Strasbourg. She has specialized in the language of the New Testament and of the Septuagint, the Hellenistic Koine, and her research interests focus on the study of the New Testament and Septuagint language as a tool for the exegesis of the biblical text. Furthermore, she is interested in the way that linguistic and literary theories might be used for the interpretation of the New Testament.
