In order to make a focused effort in the field of E&P, HPCL is looking for a dynamic, competent and experienced E&P professional with outstanding track record and having 18-20 years of experience in Oil & Gas-Exploration & Production Sector with Geology/ Geophysics background to head its Upstream Technical team. Position: General Manager Exploration & Production Nationality: Indian Location: New Delhi (Presently) No. of position(s): 1 (one) - unreserved Upper Age Limit: 50 years Age relaxation for reserved category candidates will be as per Presidential Directives i.e. 3 & 5 years for SC/ST and OBC-NC candidates respectively. Qualification: Full Time Post Graduation in Geology / Applied Geology / Geophysics / Applied Geophysics and/or Ph.D in Geology / Geophysics with minimum 60% marks in Graduation as well as in Post-Graduation for Gen/OBC-NC (50% for SC/ST/PwD). All the qualifications should be full time regular course/s from a recognized Institute /
University in India / Abroad. Experience: Minimum 18 years for Ph.D. candidates and Minimum 20 years for Post Graduate Candidates, Out of the above, at least 10 years of productive experience in various E&P activities viz., integrated seismic data interpretation using latest G&G Software leading to prospect identification, planning & supervision of geophysical and exploratory/development drilling operations, and additionally at least 5 years experience in development of oil and gas fields, including reservoir modeling. JOB PROFILE: Purpose: Support CEO in formulation of business goals and the strategy to achieve them. Oversee the formulation and implementation of exploration plans, production schedules and review the progress on operations for all oil & gas blocks. Foster an environment of learning and drive skill development programs for building core technical expertise in the Upstream sector Responsibilities: Oversee the formulation and implementation of exploration plans, drilling operations production schedules etc. for all oil & gas blocks Review progress of exploration programs, field development/redevelopment programs in all the blocks periodically Oversee the performance of the drilling operations such as resource allocation, cost control, schedules etc and reporting of well site activities Oversee formulation and implementation of Asset Acquisition strategy in line with E&P goals with a periodic review. Support identification and evaluation of new opportunities in priority focus areas using business contacts, competitive business information sources,vdr/pde visits etc. Review the geological and geophysical estimations, analysis and the recommendations provided periodically Ensure delivery of high-quality interpretation products from teams, including quality control and overall integration of all relevant geoscience studies / results and apply regional understanding to the definition and risking of leads and prospects leading to generation of drillable prospects in different assets. Take active participation in formulation of bids for licensing rounds, farm in/acquisition opportunities, negotiation process and finalization of strategic alliances/ Joint Ventures including roles and responsibilities of consortium partners
Oversee the implementation of recommendations on the proposals to develop, reinvest, abandon or hold the domestic assets Oversee the formulation and implementation of risk management strategies in the oil & gas blocks Ensure compliance with the prescribed safety, health and environment norms/regulations. Facilitate the legal vetting of PSCs, LOAs, contracts/agreements and compliance with all statutory and corporate compliance norms. Foster an environment of learning and drive skill development programs for building core technical expertise in the Upstream sector Drive initiatives for capability building of geoscientists including development of in-house integrated interpretation / evaluation teams Drive initiatives for capability building of drilling/production engineers in the company Enable availability of feasible cutting edge technology tools and software programs for various geological/geophysical examinations, data interpretation, well testing, simulations, drilling/production activities etc. SKILL SETS/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Thorough understanding of advanced geoscience concepts, to include structural and facies modeling (both clastics and non-clastic reservoirs) and sequence stratigraphic analysis. Knowledge of clastic and carbonate depositional systems, tectonics of extensional, compressional and translational basins A track record of Basin and Play Fairway analysis, prospect generation (significant seismic interpretation and mapping expertise), volumetric / risking / economics Should have been responsible for approval of drilling locations in the previously held position Experience in performing risk/uncertainty assessments Good understanding of both cased and open hole formation evaluation (including formation testers). Exposure to latest seismic data acquisition methods and seismic data processing techniques, Good understanding of seismic attributes Understanding / appreciation of various well-site operations including well intervention and simulation. Knowledge of well test analysis and reservoir modeling Preparation of development plans for oil and gas fields, including pressure maintenance, improved recovery schemes. Should have actively participated in development of at least 1 field with > 50 mmbbl (oil equivalent) reserves Leading / participation experience in due diligence process for asset evaluation through VDR or PDR visits Ability to quickly integrate data and judge quality opportunities, with a strong business overprint.
Participative experience in the preparation of Bid Documents Exposure to non-seismic techniques like GM, MT, EM etc. and their utility and application in hydrocarbon exploration.
