Dr. Path congratulated Grace Doughty on her upcoming marriage on April 21 st to Matt Peterson. Doug McKibbon, Diesel Technology instructor, announced that the Northeast Community College Diesel Technology students recently garnered first-place honors at a Diesel Technology Challenge. Other teams competing were from Central Community College, Southeast Community College, and Metro Community College. The winning Northeast team consisted of Tyler Putney, Greg Wells, Kyle Dobias, and Jason McNare. Dr. Karen Severson, Vice President of Student Services, reported that 386 students and 26 faculty and staff members participated in the Spring Job Fair that was held on March 21, 2007. The Fourth Annual Culture Show will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2007; tickets are available through members of the Multicultural Club. Sarah Dempsey, Vice President of Educational Services, reported that 65 students were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa this spring. On April 5, 2007, two NECC students, Maricela Zarate and Rhonda Lammers, were honored at a luncheon at the Capitol in Lincoln for making the Phi Theta Kappa All-State Academic Team. The Music Department hosted the 25 th annual Jazz Festival on March 26-27. Approximately 3,000 junior and senior high schools students from Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota participated in this event. The Northeast Jazz Machine and Singers Express are currently on their annual spring tour, with performances scheduled at 26 high schools in northeast Nebraska and South Dakota. The Speech, Theater, and Journalism departments are hosting the first Drama, Deadlines, and Debate Day, which is an opportunity for approximately 50 high school juniors and seniors to see the college, attend various workshops, and attend the College play. Sophomore students in Audio and Recording are attending the National Broadcasting Association conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, under the supervision of instructors Timothy Miller and Anthony Beardslee. Twelve teams from six different community colleges in Wisconsin, South Dakota, Kansas, and Nebraska will be competing in the Utility Line Rodeo today. The Road to Success trailer has already served more than 300 students in Norfolk, O Neill, and South Sioux City with more trips scheduled. Mary Honke, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement reported that Northeast Community College has contracted with the Clarus Corporation to conduct a college market scan. Northeast Community College will be honoring our first six graduates in South Sioux City

Voting Yes: Phillips, Poessnecker, Schmitt, Warrick, Winkleblack, Anderson, Harvey, Lingenfelter, Meisinger, and Oelsligle 10052 Mr. Schmitt reported that Northeast Community College has contracted with the Clements Group to serve as the consultant for the College of Nursing-Northern Division and the South Sioux City-College Center projects. 10053 John Winkleblack, Chairperson of the Policies and Procedures Committee, advised that the FIRST READING was heard of revisions to Code 3040, Reimbursement of Travel and Other Business Related Expenses, and Code 3040.a, Reimbursement of Travel and Other Business Related Expenses Procedures. Additional minor revisions to the policy will be made prior to hearing the SECOND READING in May.

Voting Yes: Poessnecker, Schmitt, Warrick, Winkleblack, Anderson, Harvey, Lingenfelter, Meisinger, Oelsligle, and Phillips 10055 Steve Anderson, member of the Human Resources Committee, advised that an annual performance evaluation of the president is conducted, followed by review and discussion. Mr. Anderson stated that the Board is very pleased with Dr. Path s performance. To reaffirm their confidence with the direction that Dr. Bill Path has taken the College, Steve Anderson MOVED to renew Dr. Bill Path s contract for a period of three years. The contract for the services as President of Northeast Community College with Dr. Bill R. Path will commence July 1, 2007 and end on June 30, 2010. The salary for the first year of this contract will be set at $150,000 and will be renegotiated each year thereafter. John Winkleblack SECONDED the motion.
