Youth, Skilling and Excelling Leaders APPLICATION FORM 2014

Cape York Leadership Program The Cape York Leadership Program offers four targeted phases that aim to build the leadership capabilities of members at various skill levels and stages of life. Our vision is for our members to maximise their talents to achieve their full potential, and have the confidence to build their capabilities and achieve their goals. Our program motto is dream more, learn more, be more. We value all of our leaders for the contribution they make whether this is confined to their families, work places, communities or practiced in all areas of their life. For this reason, we have adopted a four phase strategy that builds skills based on leadership context and experience and provides members with the option to either complete their leadership education within a single phase or continue to grow through other phases. Natural Leadership is the power of self-determination and informal recognition of its inspiration and influence over fellow citizens. Natural Leaders can be found in families, community groups and in the full range of informal social, cultural, religious settings. Unlike Structural Leaders, they depend on no formal institutional power or recognition. Natural Leadership is something that potentially all people can demonstrate. Rather than thinking about community engagement, we should instead be thinking about how we can promote, motivate and support Natural Leadership. Let s develop Natural Leadership. Noel Pearson, Director Cape York Institute 2 Application Form 2014 Youth, Skilling and excelling leaders
