The Rewards Program The Rewards Program is to be used to cooperatively build partnership with Georgia Power s trade allies through participation in the Georgia Power 2015 Heating and Cooling Program. HVAC dealers participating in the Georgia Power 2015 Heating and Cooling Program may spend qualifying credits toward options outlined below. Unless otherwise specified, rewards may be paid at a maximum of 100 percent of total cost of qualified option. An itemized invoice is required for all qualifying reward options. Reward options (Not limited to those outlined below. Please consult with your local Georgia Power rep for details.) Industry Education classes - reimbursement for certified training, continuing education, and industry certifications. Tools - reimbursement for tools and devices used to test, maintain, and service heating and cooling equipment. Office Support - business and industry related software and computers (example: ipads, laptops, desktops, Intuit QuickBooks, load calculation software, etc.) Uniforms - limited to the logo and branding of qualifying HVAC company only Co-op advertising (Existing Residential Market Only) (up to 50 percent of cost based on Co-op Guidelines) - See the Georgia Power Cooperative Guidelines for details. Non-qualifying options o Labor o Office supplies o Job materials such as refrigerants, duct material, and other consumable items o Taxes of any kind on purchases or items considered for reimbursement o Shipping or freight charges for merchandise purchased o Any material or hardware promoting the use of natural gas or propane technologies Rewards Qualifications for Heat Pump Conversions (Existing Residential Market Only) Georgia Power will partner with HVAC dealers in a Rewards Program as outlined above. HVAC partners will qualify for rewards credits based on the four partnership levels below. Once any partnership threshold level is met, reward credits for that level are acknowledged back to unit one. 1. Qualifying Conversion and Add-on systems o Single-family residential electric heat pump or dual-fuel heat pump system converted from gas heat o Single-family residential electric heat pump or dual-fuel heat pump system added on to a previously unconditioned space (basement, sunroom, bonus room, addition) o Single-family residential electric steel-tank or Marathon water heater converted from gas water heating 2. Non-qualifying systems o Window units, Loyalty Program Pilot units (heat pump to heat pump replacements), electric resistance to heat pump conversion, and any heat pump system replacing existing conditioned space. The Loyalty Program Pilot for Heat Pump Replacements Existing Residential Market The Loyalty Program Pilot is to be used to cooperatively build partnership with Georgia Power s trade allies through participation in the Georgia Power 2015 Heating and Cooling Program. HVAC dealers participating in the Georgia Power 2015 Heating and Cooling Program may spend qualifying credits toward options outlined as listed in the Rewards Program. Unless otherwise specified, rewards may be paid at a maximum of 100% of cost of qualified option. An itemized invoice is required for all qualifying reward options. HVAC Dealers participating in the 2015 Georgia Power Heating and Cooling Program will receive a $50 qualifying credit for heat pump to heat pump replacements. The $50 credit is valid only on heat pump to heat pump replacements and redeemable strictly toward items outlined in the Rewards Program. Loyalty Program units may not be combined with Reward Program credits to achieve conversion/add-on partnership levels. 1. Qualifying Loyalty Program systems o Single-family residential customers replacing an electric resistance, electric heat pump or dual fuel heat pump system with an electric heat pump or a dual-fuel heat pump system 2. Non-qualifying systems o Single-family residential electric heat pump or dual-fuel heat pump system converted from gas heat o Single-family residential electric heat pump or dual-fuel heat pump system added on to a previously unconditioned space (basement, sunroom, bonus room, addition) o Window units o Electric water heater replacements 3 P a g e
Commercial & Industrial Market The C&I Loyalty Program Pilot is designed to mirror and complement the Single Family Existing Market Residential Loyalty program. The pilot is to be used to cooperatively build partnership with Georgia Power s trade allies. The C&I Loyalty program awards credits into participating HVAC dealers 2015 Heating and Cooling Program which awards qualifying credits towards options listed in the Residential Rewards Program. C&I earned credits will be added to the earned Residential credits so that each qualifying HVAC dealer will have only one Rewards account. All limitations and rules of the Residential Rewards Program will apply to the C&I Loyalty Program Pilot. HVAC dealers participating in the 2015 Georgia Power Heating and Cooling Program will receive a $50 qualifying credit for heat pump to heat pump replacements. The $50 credit is valid only on heat pump to heat pump replacements and redeemable strictly towards items outlined in the Rewards Program. Loyalty Program units may not be combined with any other dealer programs such as the Residential conversion/add-on program. 1. Qualifying Loyalty Program systems o Commercial business and small industrial customers replacing an electric furnace, electric heat pump, or dual fuel heat pump system. The account cannot be served on a marginal pricing rate such as RTP. 2. Non-Qualifying systems o Commercial Business or small industrial customers converting from gas heat o Heat pump or dual fuel heat pump systems added to previously unconditioned space (foyers, basements, storage rooms, additions). o Window units o Water heater replacements General Guidelines, Submittal Reimbursement Requests, and Income Tax information communicated in the Residential Rewards Program Guidelines all apply to the C&I Loyalty Program Pilot Program. 4 P a g e
General Guidelines to qualify for Rewards and Loyalty Program participation The trade ally must adhere to the Georgia Power 2015 Heating and Cooling Program and guidelines. The Single Family Existing and C&I Rewards Program Request form must be completed and approved for all reimbursement consideration. In the event qualifying reward credits are used toward co-op advertising then a Co-operative Advertising Request form must be completed and agreed to by Georgia Power and the trade ally prior to media placement. Georgia Power reserves the right to terminate any party s participation in the Rewards Program or the Loyalty Program at any time for any reason. Reward balances are not redeemable for any type of gift card or cash payments. Submitting Reward Program reimbursement requests Program requests for reimbursement (including all required documents) must be sent to Jeff Nunnelly within 45 days of the invoice date or by December 15 of the current year, whichever date occurs earlier. No requests for reimbursement will be accepted after December 15, 2015. Program dollars earned by the HVAC or plumbing partner during the current year cannot be carried forward for use during the next year. If funds are not used during the current year they are forfeited by the contractor. Program dollars must be earned based on actual sales in the residential single family existing or C&I market before they can be redeemed. Reimbursement is limited to those items outlined in this document. Any reimbursements for items not outlined in this document must be approved in advance. To qualify for any reimbursement under the Rewards Program, expenses must occur between January 1, 2015 and December 15, 2015. Unless otherwise specified, rewards may be paid at a maximum of 100 percent of total cost. An itemized invoice is required for all qualifying reward options. The maximum amount eligible for co-op reimbursement will not exceed 50 percent of the total media cost. See the Georgia Power Co-operative Guidelines for details. The Georgia Power representative must complete a Rewards Program Request form and/or Co-op Advertising Request form on behalf of the trade ally. Georgia Power reserves the right to deny or exclude reimbursement on any expenses deemed inappropriate for Georgia Power business. Georgia Power must approve all program reward requests, and will make the final decision to determine if an expense is eligible, as well as determining the maximum amount eligible for reimbursement prior to reward transaction. Income Tax Reporting Rewards recipients may be subject to income tax information return requirements depending upon the reimbursement amounts received. 5 P a g e
Georgia Power Rewards Program Request Form Georgia Power Reward funds are available to participating HVAC dealers and/or plumbing contractors in the single-family existing market to be used to cooperatively build the business of Georgia Power and its trade ally partners. To be considered, reward requests must directly impact the primary buying audience for the product or service being offered. Georgia Power funds are to be restricted to industry education classes, tool purchases, Marathon water heater purchases and coop advertising (print, broadcast, Internet, collateral, signage, or other media directly targeted to the primary buying audience). Georgia Power must approve all reward requests prior to payment. YES NO All conversion/add-on system installations under this program are subject to visual verification by the Georgia Power Corporate Compliance Organization. If the field audit discovers the equipment has not been installed, or any other non-conforming condition exists, dealer will be subject to GPC probation policy. If GPC discovers any discrepancies relating to reward requests, dealer is responsible for reimbursing GPC for all invalid reward amounts paid. GPC reserves the right to suspend or disqualify dealers or their employees involved in the discrepancies from participation in reward and rebate programs, to impose additional requirements on the dealer or its employees before allowing continued participation in reward and rebate programs, and/or to seek criminal prosecution of alleged wrongdoers. By submitting this request, applicant acknowledges and agrees that GPC s liability and responsibility in connection with any reward program shall be strictly limited to the making of certain payments to eligible applicants, and that GPC is not making, will not be providing and specifically disclaims any representations, warranties, covenants or guaranties whatsoever, expressed or implied, in connection with the equipment or the program itself, including, without limitation, those regarding merchantability or fitness. Warranties with respect to the equipment are strictly manufacturer s warranties, and applicant shall not make, nor have the right to make, any claims against GPC relating to any such warranty. GPC shall in no way be liable or responsible for any equipment installed or any act or omission of any other entity or individual, including, without limitation, any dealer, technician or other service provider. GPC reserves the right to cancel or modify the Rewards Program at any time in its sole discretion.
