1.0 PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE The purpose of this desktop procedure is to establish the guidelines for students using the learning management system (LMS) at the Department of Energy (DOE) National Training Center (NTC). 2.0 SCOPE This document applies to all students enrolled in the Learning Management System at the NTC. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES Although each individual is responsible for his or her duties listed in this section, these duties may be delegated to another individual who is equally qualified to perform the same function. LMS Administrator The LMS Administrator is responsible for ensuring the functionality of the LMS and the integrity of the data housed within the LMS. 4.0 OPERATIONS 4.1 Create a New Account 4.1.1 To create an NTC portal account, access the NTC page here: https://eaccess.ntc.doe.gov/. 4.1.2 Under Create New Account section, click Create. 1
4.1.3 Enter a valid email address to verify whether you have an existing account, then click NEXT. 4.1.4 If you have an existing account, you will see a message telling you the email address is already in use. Do not attempt to create an account using a different email address. You can use the Retrieve Credentials option on the home page, or contact the NTC LMS Administrator for assistance. 2
4.1.5 On the following screens, enter the required information then click NEXT. 3
4.1.6 In the 4 th step, note your User Name. Enter and confirm a password, then click NEXT. If your password does not meet the complexity requirements, you will not be able to proceed. You will see an indication in red telling you what is wrong with the password you entered. Correct the error, then click NEXT. 4.1.7 If you are requesting access to the LMS, ensure Yes is selected, then click NEXT. 4
4.1.8 Verify your account information for accuracy. You can click BACK, and correct any information that is inaccurate. If everything is correct, click NEXT. 4.1.9 Your Access Request has now been submitted, but you will need to verify your request by selecting the link in an email you will receive from the NTC Webmaster. Once you click on the link in that email, you will receive a second email from the NTC Webmaster confirming your account was verified successfully. 5

4.1.10 After selecting the link from the email, you will be returned to the eaccess site to complete the LMS access request. Select the proper Employee Type, then click SUBMIT. 4.2 Account Maintenance 4.2.1 To manage your NTC Portal account, access the NTC page at https://eaccess.ntc.doe.gov/. 4.2.2 Under the Manage Account section, enter your Username and Password, then click Login. 7
4.2.3 From the Manage Your Account screen, select the Personal Profile, Email, or Password tabs to change your account information. 4.2.4 Select the Application Access tab and the button under NTC LMS to check the status of a request or to request additional access. 4.3 NTC LMS Student Site Login Page 4.3.1 Visit the NTC LMS Student Site at https://lms.ntc.doe.gov. 4.3.2 Enter your Username. 4.3.3 Enter your Password. 8

4.5.2 Click National Training Center (NTC) Course Catalog. 4.6 View Course Schedule 4.6.1 Click menu item: Resources. 4.6.2 Click National Training Center (NTC) Course Schedule. 4.7 Enroll into Courses OR Sessions 4.7.1 Click menu item: Course Catalog. 4.7.2 Courses are organized by Subject Area folders. Items are indicated by their icon, as follows: Subject Area elearning courses 10
Instructor-led courses 4.8 Request Enrollment: Instructor-Led Training (ILT) Course 4.8.1 Open any Subject Area folder. 4.8.2 View the course description by hovering the pointer over the desired course. 4.8.3 Click the desired ILT course. 4.8.4 Select the desired Session by clicking the radio button for the session you prefer. 11
4.8.5 Click the Enroll button. You will receive an enrollment notification. An enrollment request will be sent automatically to your Training POC for approval. Once your training request has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email. Alternately, you may receive a message indicating the class size limit has been reached. If you receive this message, you may choose whether to be added to a waitlist. 4.9 View Approved or Pending Enrollments for Instructor-Led Training (ILT) Course Click menu item: My Courses. Courses are listed in their subject area folder. You will need to open the subject area folder for the course you wish to view. Enrollments awaiting approval will show in red text. Enrollments approved for attendance will show in black text, and an approval email will be sent to your email address. Enrollments denied will be removed from the list, and a denial email will be sent to your email address. 12
4.10 Cancel Enrollments Instructor-Led Training (ILT) Course 4.10.1 Click menu item: My Courses. 4.10.2 Courses are listed by their subject area folder. Open the subject area folder for the course you wish to cancel. 4.10.3 Click the course you wish to cancel. 13
4.10.4 Click Cancel Enrollment. 4.10.5 You will see a notification requesting you to confirm your cancelation request. Click Yes to cancel your enrollment. Once you confirm your request, you will be given the option to enroll in a different session, or return to My Courses. 14
4.11 Enrollment: ELearning Course 4.11.1 Click menu item: Course Catalog. 4.11.2 Open any Subject Area folder. 4.11.3 Click on any elearning course. 4.11.4 Click the Enroll button. 15
4.11.5 You will be notified of successful enrollment, and you may choose to launch the new course now or later. 4.11.6 If you choose not to view the course immediately, you may view the course at any time by opening the My Courses tab. 4.12 View Your Enrollment Calendar 4.12.1 To see your scheduled classes, click the Dashboard tab. 4.12.2 Click through the calendar to view your enrolled schedule. Courses are identified by blue-highlighted days so to view course information, hover your cursor over the bluehighlighted day. 16
4.13 View and Print Certificates 4.13.1 Click the Transcript tab. 4.13.2 Click on the course or curriculum title to view your certificate, and click the Print button to print your certificate. 17
