Copyrights and Permissions The CAFP Website contains information, software, photographs, graphics and other materials collectively known as content. Unless otherwise noted, the CAFP reserves full title and ownership of all. Content is protected by copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual and property rights and all rights are reserved. The CAFP disclaims any liability to any party for the accuracy, completeness or availability of any CAFP content or other material or for any damages arising out of the use or nonuse of any CAFP content. The CAFP is pleased to grant permission to use or reproduce copyrighted material in accordance with our current guidelines. In some cases, fees are applicable. The following links describe our guidelines and the process for requesting permission. LINKING GUIDELINES What if I want to link to the Academy's site? We believe that links ought to be made based on their merits. If you feel linking to our site would benefit your audience, feel free to do so, following the guidelines listed below. Except where authorized, no CAFP material may be downloaded onto your server or anyone else s server and may not be used in any electronic format. No CAFP content may be framed within any borders, banners, or other visual images other than those placed by the CAFP itself. The link is an external one in that the CAFP URL is visible in the address window. The link should not be presented in such a way it might be perceived as a sign of the CAFP s endorsement of any website or of the content within. PERMISSIONS Educational Use Content on this site is copyrighted. You may print materials from the CAFP s web site for non-profit, educational purposes only, under the terms and conditions of the definition of fair use. Proper attribution, including a notice of copyright, must be included on all copies. Abiding by the principal factors of fair use, one can utilize a portion of a copyrighted work as is for purposes of non-profit research and education. Appropriate credit of the source is required. All requests should include the following information: About the material you would like to use: Title of page/section you want to use URL of the page/section Identify content; provide a sample if possible About your proposed use: Name of your Web site, publication, program or product URL of Web site Name of publisher or sponsor Type/format of publication in which the CAFP content will appear (e.g., Web site, newsletter, book, periodical, CD-ROM) Estimated number of copies to be printed or produced Whether the copies will be sold or free. If free, what funding, if any, is affiliated with the program/project? Please note: Responses to permission requests usually take 14 to 21 business days from the time a request is received. Response times may be longer during periods of high volume. Incomplete requests will be returned and will not be processed. All rushed requests warrant a $50 rush fee to be submitted with the initial permission request. Responses to rush requests will be within seven (7) business days from the day of receipt. Fees and Payments A permission fee is charged when material is to be used in another form of a publication (e.g., newsletter, textbook, manual, journal/magazine, etc.) or there are fees attached to content distribution. The fee depends on the amount of content being reprinted. Payment should be made in U.S. currency and must be received before permission is granted. (Credit cards currently are not accepted.)
