CANTONALE BERNE JURA, Centre Pasquart Biel/Bienne (CH), 2013 For the work Stapel I, II [Pile I, II] 2724 the edges of sheets of DIN A4 paper were manually covered with graphite and then put atop one another. The dimensions of the end of the resulting pile I are the exact dimensions of a sheet of DIN A4. Next to this pile lies a second pile with sheets of paper from the working process. These sheets were used as pads and therefore show traces of graphite, looking used. Pile II has an arbitrary size. The number of pages that were used during the working process determines its form. The two piles are different regarding to their processing, their purpose, their treatment and their appearance. They are arranged side by side on a board of cherry wood which is installed on the wall, 1.3 meters from the floor. STAPEL I, II, 2012 2013 Paper, graphite, cherry tree wood Pile I: 2724 pages DIN A4, 29,7 x 21 x 29,7 cm pile II: 450 pages DIN A4, 29,7 x 21 x 4,5 cm board: 45 x 70 x 2 cm

Periodically there is a slight movement of the plants on the table, the tablecloth and the paper, due to the stream of air from the ventilator.
