Biz Term Bingo Directions: Hand out a copy of the blank bingo board to each student (or pair of students). Give a list of the Biz Terms to each student. They can choose any of the terms from the list and write one term per space to create their own bingo card. Review the terms and definitions with the students. Hand out the Biz Term Definition cards. You will need at least 30-50 cards, so pick Biz Terms from multiple episodes if needed. Teachers and students can also create additional Biz vocabulary additions to use in the game. Have each student (or pair) look up the term and write the definition on the back of the Biz Term Definition cards. Recollect all the cards and put into a container. These cards will be drawn out of the container to determine the next Bingo call. Choose the definition cards out of container. Keep the answer hidden. Read off the definition. Students should mark off the word on their bingo card if it is one that is defined. When a student gets a line across horizontal, vertical or diagonal, they can call out Bingo. Then have them read back the words that have been defined in their line. If they are correct about the terms that were called, they win. You can continue the game until the next Bingo is called out by a student or go for a full board. For an additional challenge, have the students define each term in their line of bingo in order to win. If the Bingo calling student or pair can t define all the terms then continue the game until the next Bingo is called out. The game when played by pairs students allow them to help each other with the terms. For younger students or student needing additional review of terms, define the terms as you go. Read the definition and let students tell you what the word is and re-phrase the definition. In this case the game winner is more a matter of chance. However, everyone is having fun and learning, which is the whole point. You can use the Biz Term lists provided or make up your own vocabulary lists using a mix of episodes to round out the list. 1
