Pag. 1-10 Directions for use : Dosing chutes type DSX. Introduction The linear vibrations of STILETTO consist of a drive part and a movable part which are connected to leave springs. The purpose of the vibrations is to give an object a directed vibration so the products will move. The moving part has been equipped with a construction with holes for placing a dosing chute or dosing tube.

Pag. 2-10 INSPECTION First carefully check the vibrator when opening the packaging and be sure it has not been damaged during transport. In case you do notice it has been damaged one way or the other, please contact STILETTO. INSTALLATION ATTENTION: NEVER lift the pedestal via the movable part as this has been adjusted by STILETTO. It may cause the adjustment of the unit to be disrupted. The vibrators are made to drive a maximum object weight, as indicated in table 4 on page 10. It is important that the supporting frame is sturdy enough to carry the complete vibrating unit. It is important that the vibrating part lies free on all sides from other machines and constructions. Please keep in mind that the gutter may come down a bit gradually, as the vibration absorbers are pressed in a bit deeper. Also the machine is not be become wet. The vibrator is not waterproof (unless explicitly stated). Install the control case in a place where it can not be damaged by other machines or where it can get wet. The case is not waterproof (unless explicitly stated). Water in the control case can result in a life threatening situation. The control case must be placed in a vibration-free place with easy access for the operator or for possible repairs. Please note: the mains voltage and frequency must correspond to the voltage stated on the plate. The system must be installed professionally before putting it into operation. Applicable to all our offers and orders and all agreements closed with us are the Conditions of the Metaalunie, registered at the Rotterdam Court, as they are according to the lastly laid down text there. Delivery conditions will be sent to you upon request..

Pag. 3-10 FUNCTION Please note that changing the vibrator or parts thereof may damage the vibrator. STILETTO are not responsible for the performance of the vibrator after unlawfully changing the vibrator. Do consult STILETTO before altering the system. Please note: the control case needs to remain closed and locked when the machine is working. Before turning on the machine, turn the potentio meter to 0. After that turn the switch to position 1 and the vibrator will start working in the lowest mode. Check all external bolts on the vibrator. Check the support of the vibrator and be assured it is sturdy and that the vibrator can not touch objects close by. Please note that the vibrator will not make a lot of noise normally. If you hear a loud noise, do turn off the machine immediately. The noise is the result of contact between the electromagnet and anchor. This can cause serious damage to the vibrator. Check table 1 [Air gap on page 7 for instructions on adjusting the air gap. AIR GAP The air gap is the distance between the electromagnet and the anchor. The right adjustment of the air gap is extremely important for the vibrator to function well. In case the air gap is adjusted in such a way that the surfaces of the electromagnet and anchor come together too closely they will come in contact with each other, which will cause a loud noise. In case the air gap has been adjusted in such a way that the gap is too wide, the current of the vibrator may increase to a dangerous level and this may cause the coil to burn. Please note: do not start up the vibrator if one of the above mentioned situations occurs. The air gap is adjusted correctly in the factory. Therefore it re-adjusting is rarely necessary. Nevertheless, in case the vibrator is overloaded or in case someone did change the air gap, a new adjustment may be necessary.

Pag. 4-10 Ádjusting the air gap As to adjusting the air gap, carry out the following actions while using the pictures 2 and 3 on page 8. Turn loose the nut (2) Tighten the adjustment bolt, clockwise, until the end and therefore touching the anchor. Turn the adjustment bolt counter clockwise, referring to table (1). Find out the size of the air gap for your vibrator by turning the adjustment bolt so many times until you reach the right distance. Connect a multi meter in VIBRATION WIDTH The size of the vibration width is the distance the gutter moves in a full cycle of 1 vibration. The distance can be read as follows: The by the crossing lines enclosed black triangle will seemingly reduce itself with vibration in the indicated direction. Each small line passing the intersection of the lines is equal to 1mm vibration width of the object. ADJUSTMENT Determining the spring package (number and width) is necessary to be able to change the reach of the vibration. Attention: Disconnect the vibrator from the power before replacing the springs. Change one package at the time, starting with the package at the beginning of the gutter. Note the position of each spring, distance block and spring clip strip and remove the spring bolts on the vibration side and after that the spring bolts at the gutter side. Put back the springs in the right order and install the bolts according to tightening joint in table 2 page 7.

Pag. 5-10 MAINTENANCE Attention: Before starting maintenance, first switch off the electric power. Certain materials stick to the surface of the gutter and as more and more layers stick to the gutter the gutter weight increases. When this weight gets too heavy, this will influence the whole adjustment. This dirt must therefore be removed on a regular basis, so do check the internal gutter regularly. Attention: never oil the spring package The drive can feel a bit warm during operation but you must be able to touch it still. All signs of overheating or burning parts mean you will have a problem situation soon. From the first signs of overheating you immediately need to start looking for the cause and solve the problem.

Pag. 6-10 SOLVING PROBLEMS In case repairs/replacement/re-adjustments are necessary, do take the right precautions so not to cause defects to the vibrator as a result of bad functioning. In case you have ordered parts, do mention the information recorded on the name plate. PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION The vibrator works too slow. Power voltage is lower than indicated The unit comes in contact with objects nearby The springs functioning may be disrupted The springs do not function well. The gutter is torn or worn. Increase the power voltage upto the indicated voltage Move the unit away from the objects Remove and clean the spring package. Replace Replace The vibrator works too fast. Power voltage is higher than the one indicated Decrease the power tension down to the indicated tension. The unit does not work. There is no power supply. The switch or melt fuse do not work properly The electronic card within the board does not work properly The coil of the vibrator could be burnt or Connected to earth wire. There is a short circuit in the coil The coil of the resistance is open.. Check for cable interruption Replace Replace Replace. Replace Replace. Table 1
