Treatments Service Plan Details Initial Treatment: The initial treatment is critical in successfully eliminating those unwanted pests around your home. Our goal for this treatment is to flush out pests from their hiding places in or near your home. For this reason, you may actually experience an increase in pest activity for a few weeks. This treatment also aids in your future foundation and preventive treatments by greatly minimizing any additional infestations that can occur. After your initial treatment, we will return to treat your home within 30 days to start your regular treatment schedule. This treatment is extremely important because it begins to break down the egg cycle of the pests around your home. Another reason for its importance is that it takes care of any unhatched eggs that may have not been affected during the initial treatment which as a result will prevent an infestation from occurring. We understand that you want those pests out of your home and want them out quickly and we consider it our responsibility to make sure that happens! Treatment Schedule: Rest assured there will be a significant decrease in the amount of pests around your home with the yearly treatment plan you have selected. Treatment Methods Wet Weather Treatment A common question people ask is how effective our products are in the rain. Our technicians are trained on which products to use in specific types of climates and weather. There are some products that are enhanced by moisture, which make the treatment more effective than they would otherwise be without the aid of water. Our technicians will generally treat with a liquid product by the foundation, base of the windows, and all entry ways to the home. In addition, a waterenhanced granule will be spread out from the foundation into the yard to create a barrier around the home. These granules acts as land mines for pests! This treatment method is extremely effective and very important in preventing future infestations. Many people see an increased activity of bugs just after a rain. This is usually due to the rain disturbing the dwellings of the pests as well as reproductive mechanisms of the pests near your home. It will be important to have the treatment already applied in order to minimize invading pests. If for any reason you are seeing abnormal amounts of pests, please call one of our customer service representatives and we will be happy to return and retreat your home free of charge. Winter Method During the winter, the colder temperature cause pests that normally seek refuge outside your home to move inward. The fall and winter months are considered rodent season. Your garage and attic are generally too hot during the summer for mice and rats to dwell, but become the primary areas where they seek to find refuge during the cooler months. In addition, ants, spiders, earwigs and other pests can become an increasing problem inside homes as the weather cools down. Our winter method of treating for these common pests is extremely effective because we focus our treatment closer to the home where the pests are reproducing and nesting. In addition to the barrier we maintain around your home, we have an injection treatment system in which we place a tool that injects a product into the cracks and weep holes near the foundation of your home. Many specialists feel that this winter treatment may be the most important of all applications! The reason is that as the weather begins to warm, pests become more and more active. As they come out of their nesting areas, they will immediately come in contact with the products before they have a chance to reproduce and reside inside your home. By choosing a year round treatment schedule, you will enjoy the benefits of thousands of our customers who make up the White Knight family! 4

Take charge of your home! There are several things you can do to prevent pests from getting into your home. Here are some key suggestions and recommendations especially for homeowners: Indoors 1. Make sure all doors to the outside are well sealed. If light can be seen from around or under a door, then pests can gain access into your home. 2. Keep air-conditioning filters clean and thermostats properly adjusted. Mold and mildew build-up attracts tiny bugs. 3. Check for plumbing leaks, and seal off gaps around plumbing pipes behind cabinetry. Don t let water accumulate anywhere in or around your home. 4. Check grout around bathtubs and toilets. A good caulk seal will keep out small pests, such as silverfish and ants. 5. Check the attic for water in the drip pan, unnecessary clutter and screened gable vents. Seal or remove cardboard boxes to prevent pests from nesting inside. 6. Store all open food containers in tightly sealed containers or in the refrigerator. 7. If you have a pet, don t leave pet food or water out overnight. 8. Keep countertops, floors, kitchen appliances, and furniture free from grease and left over food. Outdoors 1. Repair or replace any torn screens to keep pests from getting inside. 2. Seal around soffits and vents to make sure rodents and pests can't get into the roof or attic space. 3. Seal around conduits and piping where it enters your house. Many pests and rodents follow power lines or climb conduits and pipes to get inside. 4. Check all gutter drains to make sure that water is diverted away from your house. The base of each gutter should drain water away from the foundation to discourage moisture from building up next to your house. 5. Remove all accumulated leaves and debris from rain gutters and the roof to prevent ants and other pests from breeding under the build-up. 6. Caulk all cracks and crevices (for example, under window frames or around pipes entering the side of your house) to prevent insects from entering. 7. Keep garbage cans clean and lids sealed to prevent ants, roaches and flies from feeding and breeding in the garbage. 8. Keep the garage door closed, and make sure the weather-stripping along the base of the door is in good repair. 9. Prune any excess plants or trees touching your house, especially on eaves and the roof. These create a pest highway directly into your house. 10. Remove debris, clutter or woodpiles away from your home s foundation. This discourages rodents from nesting or pest infestations around your home. 11. Check your sprinkler irrigation system to be sure there is no puddling near the foundation or water spraying onto the house. 12. If you have air-conditioning window units, divert the drip line at least 2 feet away from the foundation of your home. 6
